90 points (with the food pairing); 86 points wine solo (no food). Juicy fruit, red currants, a little plum, baking spices. Most excellent with our lamb shawarma sandwiches from Mamoun's (Princeton, NJ), which completely improved the wine. About 86 points without the shawarma. The wine especially seems to like the fat in the shawarma, as it wasn't as good with the lamb kafta kebab.
Drink now. Very good QPR for our $10.49 / bottle purchase price.

On the nose there is mild earth and a hint of smokiness and menthol. Flavorful wonderful juicy fruit on the palate. Low alcohol, with well balanced medium acidity. Tannins are gentle but add very nice complexity and balance to the wine. Finish is medium short. A very good flavorful well balanced wine. Would buy this again.

A nose of bold dark fruits and spice, dark purple in color. A full boded red, with black cherry, berries, licorice and spice on finish, did not like first day, was better second day. www.winelx.com

Dark ruby color with aromas of dried cherries, smoke and a very light violet note. Supple dark fruit flavors with a peppery/herbal note. Finishes with bright/tart/fine tannins. It avoids being an over-ripped/jelly donut Shiraz. Surprisingly, a good QPR!

As good as previous bottles, showing restraint, elegance and balance. Again, the Grenache seems to show more than the Syrah. Has a lot of old-world character with a good amount of exuberant fruit. Not too much funk in this bottle.

Similar to previous notes. There seems to be a very slight amount of variance with regard to the "funk". This bottle had a bit more than the others, but still not off putting. Overall, this is a nice, old-world style of wine that is elegant and food-friendly.

Similar to previous bottles, with a light palate, smooth structure and soft fruits. A bit less bretty, funky and herbal than before, however. Nice value.

Very much an old world style of Syrah, showing herbs, funk and earth. A bit of brett? Tart cranberry fruit. Quite light and elegant, with a cool-climate "lift" to it. It is, however, a bit lacking in depth and length, but for $10, this is not a bad little QPR wine.

Incredible QPR. Not a wine to age or have nuances, but at $11, far better than many $20-$30 wines. Has oak, cassis, black currant, dark cherry and a bit of earth throughout. Dark purple-red, appears like an older wine. Firm tannins, good acid and medium length finish. Definitely a best value wine.

PNP - had with chicken soup. Black raspberry, raspberry, meat on nose. On palate, black cherry, plum primarily with medium body, medium+ acids and medium length finish. Good with food & good qpr. 90+/- Would buy at a similar price point to a CDR. I would not have guessed (blind) this was from Australia.

Great little weeknight dinner wine. Style much more French than Aussie - very dry, restrained fruit, focused nose. Drink it and fantasize that you're in Provence.

Based on the smell, I would've guessed it was a Pinot Noir. Raspberry jam, cooked cherries on the nose. On the palette I didn't get a lot of flavor, kind of flat. Like a really dry pinot noir. Too acidic.
Not at all what I expect an Australian Shiraz to taste like.

PnP. Faint nose of rawhide leather, blueberry, tar. A lot of cooked cherry on the palate, medium tannins, high acidity. Definitely aiming for a French styled table syrah, and mostly hitting the mark - only the strong cherry note is out of character for a southern Rhone wine. Fine tannins and high acidity, good food wine.

A restrained Shiraz without over-the-top fruit, alcohol, and harsh tannins. Fruit-forward with blueberry and cherry jam and relatively smooth tannins in an elegant (for Shiraz) wine.

This was presented to me as 'not like a typical Australian Shiraz!' That is true, I will admit. It doesn't mean that it was actually a good wine though. Basically a cheap red wine experience with malty notes, soft body and no real interest whatsoever. After some air, the taste and body did not improve but the wine did have a great flowery/jammy nose - which made the drinking even more disappointing.

Strong fruit and moderate complexity. Not a Aussie fruit bomb - more moderate.
The nose had some heat/alcohol, that didn't match the 13.5% listed on the label. Was expecting something much higher when I checked. Didn't find this on tasting, but was there throughout the first hour it was open.
Got for a great price - but wouldn't go out of my way to find again.

This has a lot of promise. Black pepper, smoky bacon fat, garrigue, and green woody notes at the fore, over blackberry liqueur fruit. Vibrant acidity, minerally backbone, fine tannins. The elements are there, but not integrated - the oak is sticking out awkwardly at this point.

The nose is full of red fruits and leather. The palate is tart cherry, raspberry, pepper and pepperoni, with a touch of dust, dirt and swamp water. And by swamp water, I mean what you get when you mix a bunch of Slurpee flavors together. There is a lot of acidity here, so much so that it almost gives heartburn, making it terrific as a food wine.

The large print on the bottle says Turnon. Cellar tracker didn't bring this wine up when I entered Turnon. Drank in our room at Disney World. Shared the bottle with Matt. We both liked it. Nice smooth wine. Drank without food. I would like to try it sometime with food.
