Medium yellow. Very fresh. Good acidity. Some petrol, yellow flowers, spices, minerals and stones. Very nicely held together with good tension and energy.

Nice, mature nose of petrol, lemon, peach, honey, apricot, and minerals. Good acidity on the palate with more lemon notes, a bit more honey, and peach, but overall quite fresh fruit flavors. Long finish. Lovely wine that needed a bit of air to wake up and was drinking really well right now.

Double decanted at 5, drank over 90 minutes or so at 7. Lovely stone fruits o the nose - apricots. Some flowers too. But the nose is not well articulated, nor is it bright and focused. The wine is a bit flat, seems like its best days happened already. Drink up.

Maybe this is just a bad bottle. Very disappointed. Nose was classic mountain flower and honeysuckle but very muted. Started off bitter and improved a little after an hour of air. A little quinine flavor and a little mineral. Hollow and thin. Just not a great wine.

Brilliant Riesling. This has it all; an incredibly light, fresh array of tart citrus and other orchard fruit flavours, fresh herbs, delicate floral notes, intense stony mineral notes, a faint creaminess on the back end, and other savoury/saline elements that keep emerging and evolving with more air. The palate is remarkably light and delicate, and doesn't feel anywhere close to the 13% alcohol stated on the back label. Amazing poise and balance, with a finish that just keeps going on. Great, great wine. I do not own enough Steiner Hund.

Younger than the 02, obviously. Steely nose - stony, some stone fruits, crisp lime? Young and peachy on the palate and very burly and brothy. Really concentrated - bitter. Needs time. Burly bitter finish. Nose - 5+/6, Palate - 5+/6, Finish - 5+/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1+/2 = 16+/20 (hard to gauge potential - maybe 17-18/20?)

Somewhat austere and tight when initially opened, but this really opens out with air. It's a very understated wine with a sense of calm about it; the flavours never hit you at once but keep gently unravelling with air; a spectrum of fresh Riesling fruit, vivid stony and saline mineral notes and higher toned herbal/leafy complexity on a delicate, light bodied frame. There's superb acidity and balance here, a real purity of flavour and stunning length.

Golden color. Good minerality and freshness. Apricot, mango, some petrol. Complex and nuanced. Just a tad sweeter than dry. Drink now.

“Ten Years After” 2008 Dry Riesling with the Guys from Mosel Fine Wines (Domicil Leidinger, Saarbrücken, Germany): Unripe apricot, a bit of fine yellow fruit, white pears and a bit of real wine grape on the nose. Missing the tension and depth on the palate. Some spices on the back end. Not really my cup of tea. (89+)

Very good but not quite in the prime season drinking window as yet. Hint of bitter on finish adds awkwardness to a gorgeous, classic Austrian Riesling
