PnP. Let sit for about 5 minutes. Color is ruby-red with a touch of purple at the center and a touch of orange at the rim. Some legs on the glass. Red fruit, funk and dirt aromas initially. Opening up and blowing off much of the funk nicely after about 15-20 minutes. On the palate the body is light+ to medium- with tart, red cherry, dirt, some darker cranberry, light tannin, a mouthwatering finish. Fairly tart. Even after about two hours a bit too simple and linear to go above good.

Pleasant surprise. Nose: no funk, just suggestions or wet earth/wood/leather. After opening up for 30 minutes, I started to sense red fruits (cherry/plum). Palate is light to medium weight with hints of same red fruits. Suspect it is at peak now, yet no indication that it is at end of life. Probably another 1-3 years left. Great value from WTSO.

PnP with a bit of a chill. Color is garnet. Sweet spice on the nose blowing off quickly to reveal cherry, funk, dirt and flowers. Flavors of cherry, funk. A little chilly at first. Drinking after dinner of rabbit, cheese polenta and arugula salad. Wine was a bit light and austere especially following a California Pinot Noir. I would reverse the order next time.

PnP out of storage. Immediate aromas of cherry, dried cherry and darker boysenberry notes. Initial taste of dark cherry and berry that is lighter body on the palate. The cork was wet almost to the top. The foil was unstained. After about 20 minutes in the glass the wine has filled in some, and developed some chalk and mineral notes. Color is a deep ruby red to garnet with translucency at the edge. Drank before and with dinner of cheese and crackers, Coq au Vin and stir-fried kale. Wine balanced out as the meal progressed. Some forest flavors filling in. Next time I'd open and possibly decant about an hour before the meal. Wine leans towards acidity with a light balance of acid and tannin at the end. Lighter and delicious through the entire bottle.

Initial aroma of cherry and dirt. Some acid. Light tannin. Bright purple to the rim. Delicate on the palate. After 30-45 minutes aroma was more intensely fruity. Taste and palate stayed delicate.

Monthly Tasting Group: Blind Pinots Worldwide (The Kenwood, Mpls, MN): Tasted, small pour. No notes. OK, not memorable.
