There is a lovely deep dense green and red apple flavour to this with some refreshing marine air. On the palate a little pear, sweet lemon and a hint of nutmeg spice and even butterscotch join the festivities - nice silky mouthfeel giving good intensity but still Chablis lift. In a good spot but for drinking now.

Apple, pear and iodine. Less acidity and steeliness as usual, even somehow quite round, the balance is beautiful. In a perfect shape, I don’t think it will get any better.

92 pts

Popped and poured on a Sunday. First time ever having a Dauvissat! Purchased out of another collector's cellar a few weeks ago.
Golden straw color. Very clear, very bright.
Beautiful nose, very typical Chablis, of wax, honey, tart green apple. Clean and crisp.
On palate, wine is sound. No traces of age at all. Great acidity, good balance. Crazy long finish, mirrors nose perfectly. Earthiness at the very end of the finish is really the only sign of age.
This is very good stuff. Glad I got to try it.

92 pts

Showing great, almost no signs of age beyond some more exotic nuance of candied apple and a hint of hazelnut. Fresh, bright salinity on nose and palate, very complex with white flower, nuttiness, lime foam.. Yum!

Tasted over 2 hrs -translucent light med gold -faint high-toned lemon with herbal note -med+ acidity peaks near the finish as it carries a bitter lemon pith top note though the med weight mid-palate bearing some minerality and a bit of spice, somewhat hollowed out mid-palate, OK length -citrus-leaning, relative lack of depth more typical for the vintage than the producer, this bottle less impressive than prior two

Tasted over 2 hrs -translucent light/med gold -minimally expressive spicy lemon candle wax -med/med+ acidity kicks in at the finish, middle weight diffuse rather simple low key citrus and stone mid-palate until a flurry of sappy extract rushes in at the finish -looks a little advanced but no oxidative notes on palate, uncharacteristically lacks a little focus, interesting profile where all the elements come crashing together on the finish, this is good but not quite as impressive as the prior bottle

PopnPour, tasted over 3 hrs -translucent light gold-green -somewhat restrained sea breeze and citrus -med/med+ acidity, med- weight with a silky softness that buffers the acidity and wraps the sappy salty mineral citrus mid-palate, intensity builds to a moderately long finish that paints the mouth with a sappy saline residue -could be nothing other than Chablis with trademark Dauvissat focus and intensity, characteristic Séchet lemon and 2011's salinity, this bottle is knocking on the door of Grand Cru quality and is utterly fantastic now

Tasted together with Dauvissat's standard Chablis 2010 and the Sechet finished on second place this time. Young fruit on the nose with lots of fresh citrus, lime, apples, sea shells and a touch of oak. High, almost tart acidity on the palate, medium body and a medium+ intensity. There is lots of quality here, but it comes of as a bit generic.
Second half of the bottle on the second day is showing a whole lot better. More butter, spicy oak and a rounder, more inviting palate. 88P on opening, 90+ with time and air. This is most likely too young today, had I had any more bottles I would have kept them at least 3-4 years before tasting again.

Better than the '11 Dauvissat Chablis I opened recently. Tangy acids with a hint of butter. Vanilla bean on the palate. Good briskness and shows a classic side, but I can sense some ripeness here, and some oak, but that will integrate and this should be very nice in a few years. At the bar at Racines with Jake.

Straw yellow and lite in the glass. Nose of citrus blossom, Sprite, melon and pith. Light body with riper than expected citrus, apple and slate minerals. Secondary salted butterscotch. MLF seems a little off. Med-short finish.
Dinner with Paul Goldschmidt, the proprietor of Chateau Vray Croix de Gay at Ripple (Ripple Restaurant in DC): I still have not received the 11 Les Clos and Les Preuses but the 11 premier crus are not terribly interesting and this is no exception. Once again strong note of pyrazine, lean, floral and mineral. Medium to light concentration. The nose expression is pretty ripe in the beginning without much acidity but the acidity is very noticeable at the end giving a disjointed impression. Not a fan and I highly recommend to avoid the 11 Dauvissat 1er crus.

France 2013 - Chablis (Chablis): Tasted at the Domaine. Compact and a little tight on the nose. Richer on the palate with soft lemon flavours and great acidity. This is wound up tight and not as showy as the previous two wines. Judgement reserved.
