intense wine. very rich. honey, brown sugar, butterscotch, and sappy. Has the power of a grand cru white burg. Nicely mineral as well. A moving wow wine. Reminds me of how i felt when i tasted the 02 Vignes de Mon Pere. My WOTN.

Ganevat Dinner (San Francisco): Pretty and very mineral driven nose with just a hint of apples, lemon, and slight honey note that emerged with air. The palate shows slightly riper notes but still has that mineralilty in the forefront and a interesting lemon/orange zest note. Good acidity and nice finish. Lovely wine and some preferred this over the other Marnes Bleues (especially on the palate), but for me the 09 was just a bit more complete.
Small glass shared by a neighboring table. I don't have much experience with Jura and probably need to address that. This was damn good with terrific concentration of fruit with intense purity and crisp tension. Love the textural complexity.

Bottle shock V Nature vs conventionnal wines (Ales France): Blind tasting. Super expressive nose of baked apple, quince. Mouth full of energy, mineral, very fresh, explosion of minerality and lively acidity. Deep and long. A classic in a fantastic vintage. Savagnin ouillé. Average 16, me 96.

tasted blind. Deep gold. From the super expressive nose I immediately thought this must be a Savennieres and Nicolas Joly's Coulee de Serant at that. Even the rich palate with its cooked apples and quince underlined my, as it turns out, wrong guess. How could anyone guess this as a Savagnin? I thought I disliked Savagnin until I tried this! Long and linear on the palate, much more mineral and precise than the blousy nose. A remarkable wine...

Lots of finesse and purity here, like an old-school Chablis, tangy and mineral with green apple and nuts, maybe a little coffee. Not oxidized but not exactly totally un-oxidative by modern standards. Extremely appealing and a wonder with food.

Hanging Out w/ Burgundy & Jura (Weygandt Wines & Ripple): Another killer bottle of the 2010 Marnes Bleues. Had a lot of minerality and a vivid stoney character. The fruit was super cool and edgy with some fresh pear, lemon, and lime. Insanely deep and layered, there's lots going on here.

TN: Jura Night (Mon Ami Gabi - Chicago, IL): I'd like to think that the 2010s will reach the levels of the 2008s sometime soon. While I didn't find this had the flinty depth that the 2008 had, there's a lot of great stuff going on here. Plenty of bright citrus notes, some almond, and lovely florals. Tightly wound, I thought the acidity was just a hair too high toned at this point. I think this needs some time to flesh out a bit. Great stuff, but young.

Wow!!! By far the greatest Ganevat I have tasted. Rich and fat like a Meursault. The oxidative style is not too Munch and makes it smell like and older Wine. Yet the taste is completly fresh. Just stunning layers of yellow fruit and fresh mushrooms. If this improves the score Will go even higher

Very pure, light and elegant with layers of bright citrus and pear fruit up front, turning more saline, savoury and stony on the back end and incredibly refreshing, with each sip inviting another.

Really good. More tension and energy than the 2009 (still not as much acid than the '01 Overnoy we drunk side to side) and deliver a genuine version of savagnin ouille. Lemon and lime with a light touch of something more exotic (think pineapple). Subtle minerality. Great stuff.

Stoney, rocky, minerally. Had the supreme class that Marnes Bleues can have and, as expected the oxidative notes were faint. Killer structure and great purity if fruit.

The savagnin is quite a complex grape, but in this wine it showed no oxydation and a great purity. Give the wine some years and the aftertaste will become more complex. Ganevat tasting 11/4 Hermitage, Amsterdam

Lacking they typical tension that Ganevat achieves. A nice bottle of savagnin but a bit flat in this vintage.

Deep and concentrated, but this comes across as rather soft and feels acid deficient compared with the 2008 and 2009 versions, at least today. Hold.
