Great rosé champagne that could easily be drunk without the bubbles. Red berries, caramel, some vegetable on the nose. Slightly sweet undertone on the palate with a hint of bitterness as well. Medium-long finish.
Drink.

Redish colour like a poulsard. Good red-berry-like intensity with hints of caramel and root vegetables. Intense palate with fine acidity and a sweet undertone. The root vegetables and red berries reappear with wine gum and Italien bitter. The finish could be longer but overall a splendid red wine… I mean rosé champagne.

Pretty Rosè color, with sentors of strawberries, raspberries, and yeast. The palate is excelelnt, with good acidity, refined minerals, mousse and brioche; red berries and blood orange notes, with a medium+ ending with some elegant vanilla notes that go on and on for a while. Very very good.

From mag. Medium pink, no bricking. Lots of secondary notes on the nose here - coffee, mint, woodsy spices, dried flowers. On the palate though there's solid vibrant fruit that's barely edging over into secondary. Good length and acid. Very pretty.

Big Al & Janelle's Spanish Inspired Blowout (Big Al & Janelle's, St. Anthony, MN): Translucent medium strawberry color. Drank a glass an hours plus. 70%PN, 30%C. I brought this bottle to Big Al and Janelle's Spanish dinner bash. I'd had this once before almost a year ago on New Year's Day outside in chilly 23F temps. It was exceptional then in not ideal conditions, and I had the sense it would be even better down the road. That sense was correct, at the very least for this bottle. Certainly this was the best rose Champagne that I've had to date. There is stunning purity here, with amazing depth and penetration whilst being featherweight and delicate at the same time. Blissful, complex aromatics with all the nuances you could ask for on the nose and palate. The nose offers up a mix of wild strawberry, peach, blood orange, sweat cream, citrus, yeast, fine chalk and wistful floral notes. The palate, with its ultra fine and creamy mousse, takes you on a journey that few rose Champagnes can with a fine mix of raspberry preserves, strawberry, tangerine panna cotta, lightly spiced blood orange, toast, ultra delicate chalk, and almonds that carries through the impressively long and lifted finish. What a beauty. I love Chablis28's comments and in particular, "leaves you wondering, how'd they do that". It ain't easy or everyone would! 97+ to 98pts.

Tonight at an epic Spain inspired dinner at Big Al's & Janelle's who knocked themselves out. Felt like we dinned in Seville :). This was the biggest head-turner of the evening in a strong line up of Champagnes, whites and old world reds. Just dazzling depth & purity! A feather weight delivering stunningly delicious red fruit, spice, mineral & toast. Perfectly balanced with sneaky intensity & drive. Might be the single best glass of Rose champagne, I've ever had! Leave you wondering, how'd they do that??? Taittinger Comte Rose should be on everyone's bucket list. Thanks Kevin!

On the nose, red fruits dominate with a touch of caramel.
The mouth is already very supple, we have a well balanced wine, very fruity and noble, with a lot of substance on a beautiful acid frame. Freshness and fruit are omnipresent, it is extremely delicious and pleasant. The finish is very powerful, it lacks a bit of length though, maybe the length will come with time.
Very well.

Champagne & A New Hope (Candie's, Mpls): Translucent medium strawberry color. Drank a glass plus over two hours plus. 70%PN, 30%C. We drank these on a sunny New Year's Day outside in 23F temps gathered around the fire pit . Refreshing...yes; ideal...not exactly; delicious...absolutely. This bottle was sandwiched into the middle so we had it for pairing with the salmon and heartier tidbits. Immense and expressive, fresh, bright red fruits, strawberry, spiced raspberry preserves, tangerine and blood orange, toast, ultra fine chalk, strawberry panna cotta texture, almonds, ultra fine bubbles, dried cherries, profound depth and yet retains the grace elegance as you would expect. Great now, better yet to come.

Deep pinot-like (in the sense of still red) nose. Raspberries, wild strawberries, water melon and a refined rubber note. Lightly candied/gum. In a good way. Some yeast and fungus too. More strawberries on the palate. Fine, oxidative notes also. Looovely balance. Juicy. Not so strong backbone but in my book this suits the wine very well. Had the same wine 5 months ago, when I found a touch of alcohol and kind of bland palate. Now this bottle was clearly a huge step up. We emptied the bottle in record time. 93p.

Drank last nite at Gato, for my birthday--after we had earlier finished off a 2006 (which is def a superior vintage). Salmon pink in color, wonderful nose of strawberries and raspberries. There's a full load of brioche, bread and strawberries on the palate. Creamy with some chalky minerality. This wine seems heavier, more coarse, and overall less elegant than the 2006--which is just spectacular. I've had this wine several times and my notes are mostly consistent. Everyone loved this bottle, likely due to its full-bodied style and ripeness of fruit. It lacks a bit in elegance, but I'm nitpicking. I'd drink this anytime!

Drank with the crowd in Antigua. Popped & poured over dinner. Salmon pink in color, wonderful nose of strawberries. Plenty of brioche, bread and strawberries on the palate. This is delicious, ripe and full. I could see it perhaps being criticized for being a bit less nuanced and bigger in style. However for food pairing the ripeness and big flavors were terrific, it worked with a wide range of ingredients tonight. Highly gulpable!

Pale strawberry color with a tinge of orange. Core of sweet strawberrry and raspberry balanced by mineral and acid. This is opulent, and extremely versatile for pairing. Tonight this worked well with a huge array of appetizers: squab, foie gras, beef, oyster, and duck egg.

Deep, developed nose with ripe strawberries, wild strawberries, raspberry candy, sweet underbrush, touch of chamomile and yeast. More simple on the palate. Lacks the depth, complexity and development that characterises the nose. Medium to light bodied. Good length. Still nice but quite a letdown from the expressive nose. No improvement on day 2. A faint alcohol bite in the finish both days. Perhaps not an optimal bottle? 90-91

Tampa Spring Break III; 2/16/2018-2/18/2018 (Tampa FL): My first time with the Comte Rose - and while I enjoyed it I am not thoroughly convinced it is worth the price of admission. Perhaps it needs more cellar time to develop additional complexity. Most striking characteristic was the bright salmon color. On the palate some strawberry and a little bit of yeasty bread dough, some creaminess on the mouthfeel - but no fireworks here.

Tampa Spring Break (the third); 2/16/2018-2/18/2018 (Various Tampa locations (Seasons 52, Capital Grille, Berns etc.)): First time with this wine. Quite nice and enjoyable. Wish we'd had regular wine glasses instead of the flute since a bit harder to get all of the bouquet and similar. It's a wine that is tart red fruits (thinking cranberry and maybe a bit of raspberry). Young and a touch tight, but also very nice and with time in the glass a bit more expressive (didn't get too much time in the glass though). I enjoyed it.

Drank at Blanco wedding in WH last nite. Fresh nose of berries. Good fruit (strawberries) on palate, very creamy, some caramel, quite nutty with very nice minerality. Indeed, from what I could gather, more stony minerality here than fruit. Good acidity level, with nice length. A very enjoyable bubbly that's showing well now, but certainly with a long life ahead

I drank it with Clovis Taittinger at Prowein 2013. I was really disappointed. I really like CdC, but in this rose the red wine was not well integrated. the red wine appears as a foreign body. For me at this point 89 points, try it in three years again

A blend of Pinot Noir (70%) and Chardonnay (30%) with a 12% of the blend being red Pinot Noir wine that gives the wine its color.
Really intense pink color, somewhere between deep salmon red and raspberry juice. Really ripe, rich and sweet nose with aromas of ripe raspberry, strawberry jam, some cool herbal notes of mint and licorice and a touch of spicy Pinosity. Really rich, full-bodied and voluminous on the palate with flavors of ripe dark cherry, raspberry, juicy citrus fruits, some chalky minerality and a touch of earthy Pinosity. The mousse is quite big and robust, dissipating rather quickly from mouth. Moderate on the acidity, giving the wine some structure, but resulting in a rather heavy-set overall appearance. The vinous finish is rich and fruit-forward with quite long and ripe flavors of raspberry, citrus fruits, some Pinosity and a hint of almost quinine chalky minerality.
A very big, sturdy and fruit-forward prestige Champagne with very vinous overall appearance. Almost massive and quite approachable; judging how the wine is drinking now, I'd say this one will not last very long in the cellar. Most likely this will develop over the future 5-7 years, but probably not much over 10-15 years. Too low in acidity and ponderous for my taste, I'd go for something more delicate and higher in acidity. I'm not really impressed.

Crush's Champagne Gala 2013 (Crush Wine & Spirits, Midtown Manhattan): Salmon. The nose is totally closed, to me; maybe a little anise? A little sweet strawberry, or Kool-Aid, or bubblegum and roses? Also a little cola. The palate is sweet but utterly primary, with fine acid and a D-Luxe mousse. Exceedingly refined. A very tough read, overall, but all the structural elements are there. Terrific length, forever. A vin de garde, for sure.

Indeed, from what I could gather, more stony minerality here than fruit. Good acidity level, with nice length. A very enjoyable bubbly that's showing well now, but certainly with a long life ahead

Crush's Annual Champagne Gala 2014 (Crush Wine & Spirits, Midtown Manhattan.): I can't say I was impressed with this, this time around - tasted it twice and both times it really showed little to distinguish it. Maybe some berries, roses and stones, but very meh overall. 12.5/20.

inte speciellt imponerad konstigt nog, trodde detta vin skulle vara magiskt, mycket jordgubbar i smaken, lite bitterhet, comtes känslna i bakgrunden men tyvärr så är det inte ens i närheten av de förväntningarna jag hade.

Lufthansa First Class Experience; 8/30/2014-9/5/2014 (32,000 feet): Darker fruit, toast, potpourri nose. Full, rich body. Light red fruit, tart strawberries, nice acidity. Medium finish.

Crush's Annual Champagne Gala 2013 (Crush Wine & Spirits, Midtown Manhattan.): Perfumed, sweet. Matt says "bubble gum and roses". Ripe with strawberry and dark cherry. a bit of cinnamon. Similar on the palate: cherry soda and minerals. Delicious. Great cherry and stone finish. Nose - 5.5/6, Palate - 5.5/6, Finish - 5+/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1-1.5/2 = 17-17.5/20.
