Absolutely delicious. My last of 3 bottles this was the best. Medium ruby red with a touch of brown color indicative of its 13 year old age. Red cherry fruit. Good acidity, touch of plum. Airy and elegant. Very Burgundian. 13.4% abv, Drink now.

Does Oregon Pinot age for more than a decade, you may ask? Absolutely. This was really spectacular with perfumed black fruit and silky tannins. Minimal color change and could go another 5 years or more with upside. Really a great bottle.

At the Oregon Cabaret Theatre dinner show (Avenue Q) in Ashland. PnP. Ruby in color. Very nice nose of cherry and rose petals. More cherry and raspberries on the palate with some power and additional complexity. Tannin well integrated. Went well with both Estie's salmon and my chicken. Should remain good for a few more years.

Decanted for 90 minutes. Lighter color in the glass though the nose started initially darker, with notes of blackberry, cinnamon and orange peel. On the palate the fruit turned red, with notes of red raspberry and spring flowers, mushroom and herbs. Lightly spiced too, though with air the wine took on a sour cherry note. Soft texture, light body - drinks very easily.
Our first of three, we liked it but didn't love it like other vintages from Soter. It has life left but I do wonder how soon the turn will happen, so we'll likely enjoy the last two in the next year to 18 months.

Moderately pale reddish purple with slight brown at edge. Lovely nose of cherry with a hint of raspberry and spices. Smooth, silky mouth feel. Cherry dominates with a touch of raspberry. Tannins are integrated but evident. Long finish. Probably near its peak but good for several years.

Second and final bottle. A bit of a disappointment, especially for a nearly $50 wine. Nothing technically wrong, but wine was one note with not much complexity. Medium bodied and a bit hot initially. I won't be buying again, but if you have one left, recommend holding to see if anything interesting develops.

Brownish red brick color. Floral nose, tart fruit. Medium to soft tannins, berries, vanilla. Medium to short finish. Very nice, soft pinot. Feels more like a classic CA pinot rather than a more full bodied Willamette Valley pinot. Drink now, not much reason to hold.

MSO wine club - January 2015 (Alex's House): splash decanted night before and then opened cork 2 hours prior to tasting. Still needed more air. Last glass was much improved than initial taste which had a bug spray, medicinal, plastic-like thing getting in the way. We wondered if bottle was off. It just needs a ton of air in a decanter.

A pretty classic "Oregon" Pinot. Bright cherry cola out the gate, easing into some light spice and forest floor notes. At first it had an unbalanced flavor to it. Too much candied cherry and an odd bitterness on the finish. It took an hour to gain some of the verve I was hoping for and it was wonderful with the garlicy/anchovy/sausage pasta I had. It has a solid weight too it but still manages to be light on its feet. Overall, I had hoped for something a tad more complex. It has the telltale Oregon Pinot qualities in spades but stops short of being truly great, though the balance and texture are well crafted.

A stunning nose of sweet red fruits with a touch of minerality. On the palate, it's a medium-bodied effort with a stout structure and mouth-watering acidity. Despite it acidity, it offers a light palate of complex and smooth red fruits, with an incredible finish. One of the best Oregon Pinots I've had to date, and I've had many.

This is dark for 2010. The nose is all smoke and wood funk initially with stewed cherries, ripe strawberries, nutmeg, white pepper, pine forest floor, and mushrooms. The mouth feel is dense with flavors of dark cherries and earth. The wine is balanced and drinking well, with a smooth feel and long finish. Tobacco flavors creep up late in the finish. This is a dark and flavorful Pinot that is distinctly Oregon. It has the stuffing for aging but is perfectly approachable now in my opinion.

Two-hour decant wasn't quite enough...it was still a bit tight at that point, but really opened up nicely over the course of a leisurely dinner. Bright red Oregon strawberries shine on the nose, and once the wine opened up a little, a big whiff of hickory smoke to complement the fruit. The strawberries transition to cherries on the palette, and a Burgundy-influenced citrusy chalkiness on the tongue provided the backbone.
A pretty damn nice Oregon Pinot, although at this price point I am kinda hoping to be blown away and I certainly wasn't. This wine is clearly still on the young side of its prime, though...

Bright, medium dark ruby red. Subtle eucalyptus / menthol on the nose. Red cherry fruit with some nice minerality. 13.4% abv, and unmistakably a pinot noir (you can't always says that about California PNs). Not super complex or layered at this stage, but drinking well now, but I think this has an even better future with some aging. Better than many well-known California Pinots costing $20 more per bottle.

Clear, ruby color. Nose of orange peel, cinnamon, nutmeg, rhubarb, funk, and a slight touch of cola. Palate is lively with touches of cherry cola, lavender, red velvet, chocolate raspberries, and herbal tea. Finish lingers nicely for 30-seconds plus bringing tart strawberry candy, juicy cherries, and a touch of mint. Paired with broiled salmon, rice, and asparagus. Overall one of the better Pinot's from Oregon thus far, but it's still coming into overall balance. Drink this 2015-2020.

Mt Tabor Fine Wines 2010 And 2011 Oregon Pinot Noir (Mt Tabor Fine Wines): Contrast with the Walter Scott; Cherries, graham cracker, cream mouthfeel here, but also a distinctive set of flavors that unfortunately I wasn't able to quite pick out at the tasting. First wine I've had from this vineyard. Enjoyed the wine, at this price point though I'd rather have a case of something in the $30 range than 8 bottles of this.

World Of Pinot Noir Grand Tasting- 3/2; 3/2/2013-3/4/2013 (Shell Beach, CA): Notes of jammy fig, densely layered brown spice and mossy earth. Rich mineral fruit profile on the palate with eastern spice and forest floor elements as depth. Finely tuned structure with good acid and a full spice-driven finish. Very nice.
