Pretty great wine here. Brilliant and appealing translucence. If a wine can have an orange/garnet inherent tint, with a blue hue, this has it. All the previous notes hold true with notes of blue raspberry, tar, as in black earth fruits, but also bright red ripe strawberry on the nose. Nice balance between residual sugar, acidity and followed by characteristic xinomavro tannin. Definitely old world and definitely delicious. Rosy and floral elements could come through in time with this wine. :)

First time with Xinomavro. I find the description of a cros between Gamay and Syrah to be apt. Raspberry hugh in glass and actually comes out in mouth as well. sour like strong acidity. Sort of simple. Paired well with Goat Curry.

To me, this is what, conceivably, a Mediterranean Pinot Noir would taste like. Quite smooth and pleasantly fruity on the start, with a nice kick of acidity on the finish. I drank this at Vinoteca in London with some marinated olives and couldn't complain one bit. It has hints of that "layered" feel you get with much more expensive wines, which is a telltale sign of QPR for me.

Robe rouge "bourgogne" claire.
(13.5%) The 2nd vintage of the single vineyard that has been bottled it is the younger sibling of the Uranos offering from the same winery that is only made from 15+ year old vines. Bright, brooding red cherries up front with fresh acidity and spiced cinnamon notes before soft, chalky, minerally tannins (the limestone shines through) take over on a dry, lingering finish. Smooth, pure and focused throughout. While good on its own this one shines with burgers. Perhaps a bit simple at $14 compared to some of its brethren that cost just a few dollars more but certainly an enjoyable wine…

Medium weight with an interesting tarry component. Somewhat similar to a light Barolo, if there is such a thing.

Lovely fruity nose, strawberries.
Fruity, soft tannins, would keep well for a couple of years.
