Opened and decanted. Lovely nose but on the palate it started a little sour with big and firm tannins which softened over the course of the evening. Great structure. Can easily cellar for another 3-5 years.

Mainly Pinots Dinner with Peter Rosback: A bright, primary colour, very distinct from the other two wines. A bouquet of black cherries and lifted dark florals (heaps of VA). Similar in the mouth. Very dark fruited and taut. Extremely primary. Seriously structured and pretty closed. Serious but svelte, fine grained tannins. The next day the wine had not moved an inch. Still drinking very primary. Cellar for 5 or ideally 10 years. The wine needs time.

Brought to an offline; did not take detailed notes. Served towards the end of the night. Cork was pulled probably 2 hours before we got around to this. Dark and fairly concentrated. Still a baby with good mix of darker red fruits, lavender and a little wood. Could easily be revisited in 5 years if you have another.

10 years in its bottle and in its prime! Pinot noir taken to its maximum (rich red berry fruit on nose and palate, strong hints of licorice, yummy yummy) in the way only the best Burgundians seem to be able to do it... Clearly vinified for extensive cellaring, and its two sister bottles are now confidently waiting for future happy occasions. Could easily be 3-5 years still, and more.

Casual Dinner with Gevrey 1er (The Bristol - Chicago IL): concentrated black fruit aromas with plenty of toasty oak, dark chocolate, black pepper and espresso. Dense and meaty on palate with a real ripe blackberry character. Hard to believe this was from 2001, not showing much vintage character. As a matter of fact, if this were served blind I could easily have been convinced it was from the Northern Rhone.

Brilliant aroma of black fruits. Intense, precise flavor of great depth. Very mouth watering and succulent. Impressive length. Excellent for this level and very Dugat-Py !

Powerful aromatics with very toasty/charred oak in the forefront, followed by very extracted red berry. Fruit forward palate, medium bodied, but slightly disjointed right now. There is a lot of stuffing here and should be quite good once it all comes together. Mineral driven finish.

Quite good, quite Dugat-Py. Powerful, concentrated, and just beginning to crack open. Wonder how it will resolve but so far so good. Not exactly my style but can certainly appreciate it. Dark fruited, almost meaty, and smokey. Certainly Gevrey. Finish is long and enjoyable.

Tasted double blind last week. HUGE, long and tannic, stupid minerality, this was like a 2000 left bank GC that is nailed shut. I guessed 2001 Latour. hell that was close. this was the most masculine burg ive ever seen, in any style period. let sleep for at least 10 years, and then access. no clue what to make of this. Not enjoyable now by any stretch of the imagination, but isn't that the magic of burg .....

Still a baby, still quite primary, but this wine has legs. Would love to see it in ten years.

Huge oaky fruit on the nose. Big concentrated black fruit on the palate. Very young, but great stuffing. 93+ pts.
