The cork broke and moderate sediment in bottle for age. Purple/ garnet color, medium body, still with blue and black fruit. A long satin, sweet finish. If you have it- drink and enjoy.

Tasty. Smooth polished presentation of fruit, acid, tannins. Great after 1 hour decant but it seemed to lose some intensity and gain an astringent note as the evening went on. Good now but may not improve.

Really ready to drink. the Howell Mountain is great for aging. but this wine at 11 ish years is prime for drinking, and I think the Foley Claret really shines as an earlier drinking wine.

From the list at Bern’s. Excellent pairing with all the cuts of seared dry-aged steak we were having. Seems to be at the front end of a long prime drinking window.

Decanted and enjoyed with a chargrilled ribeye; last time I enjoyed this was back in 2014.This showed very well tonight. Deep ruby color, full bodied. Dense, massive, and extracted but showing a good balance of black fruits, tannic structure, and acid. Evolving complex mix of cassis, black currant, blackberry, black coffee, tobacco and dark earth. As noted in 2014 the extraction creates a slightly jammy finish. Very good with a few more years of life ahead.

This bottle in a good place. Poured a mag at a wine club party last night. Real crowd pleaser. Nice fruit on the front end tannins have softened on the back. It’s got more life ahead but drinking well now! Wish I had more.

Drinking much better than a year ago, will sit on last bottle. Showing no coloration of age, and still a bit wound. Opened only slightly with 3 hours in the bottle, a little better with vinturi, but no substitute for a little more time.

Warning: i am a huge Robert Foley fan and lover of red fruit dominated cabs. Foley made the wine but this is all black fruits. Blackberries, truffles, and olive tempenad. So why the generous score? This wine rocks these flavors out of the park! So silky, long, and integrated. 30 second finish! What a wine. Bravo!!!

First time Foley hasn't surprised me to the upside ... for the sake of my last two bottles I hope this is in a dumb phase. Flat and uninspired tonight, even after a couple hours' opening.

Drinking well now, a fair amount of sediment in the bottle, would drink up. A nice mix between CA style and old world style. I prefer old world and this delivers while still having lots of fruit.

Cork was black with a hefty does of tartrate crystals. Used the Rabbit to eliminate the sediment as I figured there would be plenty. There was...but it was very fine and not chunky. Good start.
After 2 hours in the decanter, I was excited to pour this. First glass was all blue and black fruits with a nice balanced acid/fruit profile. Certainly a heavily oaked wine but it was composed.
Second glass...it all went wrong. Kinda strange, but it turned syrupy and sweet with very little tannin structure and just....flabby. Really wanted to like this and, again, others drinking this night loved it. Go figure.

Decanted for 2+ hours. Deep purple, full bodied. Dense, massive, and extracted but showing a good balance of black fruits, tannic structure, and acid. Drank alongside the 2009 Robert Mondavi Cabernet Reserve, and I think the Mondavi was slightly better. The extraction creates a slightly jammy finish. Paired with a char-grilled ribeye. We'll see how this develops with time.

Decanted the wine 2+ hours before consumption. Drank at slightly below room temperature.
Color - A beautiful dark purple... very dense and extracted. Bouquet - Signature Napa Cab. Plenty of dark fruits including blackberry, blueberry, black cherry, with some mineral, slight oak/cedar (but not oaky), hint of mocha and some spice. Acidity - medium Tannins - has grip, just enough to balance the acid. Well integrated. Structure - this wine is very well structured with good balance. Taste - I paired it with Lamb chops and it went very well together. Lots of black fruit on the palate, some spice, leather, hint of oak/cedar, Nice finish to this wine, smooth and soft. It was not drinking like a young wine.
Overall, a very nice expression of Napa Cabs and highly enjoyable. I read the reviews before consuming and it surpassed my expectations.

Opened for 2 hours then decanted for a few more. Really good, although a few years will definitely benefit. Seamless dark fruit and supple soft tannin.

Tight and restricted for now. This wine will require a long decant as it is extremely young. Dark and tannic, with a deep dark purple almost black color. This puppy will mature in time and I think that patience will be rewarded.

Very fragrant of blackberry, mineral and flower, spicebox. On the palate it is concentrated with blackberry and lots of rather raw oak. I go back to the nose and the oak is not there - weird. This wine is powerful but has good balance and should improve with a few more years.

Chocolate-raspberry ganache cake, oak, and finishing with a hint of vanilla. A well extracted version of the variety. Tannins still show a lot of firm grip. Give this some more time.

Football & Domestic Cabs @ Howard's 2013 (Old Greenwich, CT): Very modern, with flashy fruit, chocolate, oak spice and ripe cherry liquor. A bit too youthful and brash right now, but with some cellar time this might integrate into something interesting, given the quality of the tannins... big, yet fine-grained.

Beautiful. Initial impression is lush fruit- plums. Big bodied with supple tannins. Just a touch of oak comes through and seems fairly balanced already for a big cab. Black pepper, a touch of leather and a very long finish that has a nice touch of floral as it extends.

All of Foley's wines are excellent. The cabs are highly extracted, but have great fruit and balanced tannins. A great bottle. A little young, but I just had to try it. If you can give it a couple more years.
