  • Well made, good length but more savoury than anticipated, the 2010 was a lot more fruit forward.

  • Fresher than last time, which faded faster than expected. More vibrant colour than I remember too, surprising bottle variation from the same carton.

Blackcurrant and and tart plum prominent. Hints of greenness, maybe eucalypt. Some earthy spice notes linger late.

Based on this bottle I'd say years to go but the last one suggested drink now, what to do? 😄

  • Opened nicely and improved with about an hour in the decanter. Powdery soft tannins and acidity still present but softened and in the background. I don't think it's about to die but I think it's plateaued and is in it's drinking window.

Light-medium bodied and sweet blueberry and blackberry fruit, real "right bank" character. Real elegance compared to the ubiquitous Marg River Cab, not better but a nice alternative with a point of difference.

  • Medium garnet with pronounced fading out from the core.
Leathery aged characters have appeared, joining the more youthful black cherry, blackcurrant, cranberry and leafy herbaceousness on the medium(+) intensity nose.
On the one hand steeped in rich, mouth filling black fruit flavours, while also retaining elegance and finesse. It's medium bodied flavours are supported by firm tannins and chocolaty oak.The finish is particularly impressive, with dark fruits, charry oak and dark chocolate lingering for many seconds.
Predominately Cabernet Franc with smaller inputs from Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon in decending order.
Don't be fooled by the ageing appearance, the palate has lively acidity while the alcohol is in check.
This is a high quality wine, with everything in harmony and balance. I found this to be beautifully detailed and expressive at the moment, but has what it takes to comfortably see out another decade (at least).

  • 92 or better. A medium bodied “savoury” delight. With GGCCC.

  • Delicious. Maybe missing a little tannin, but ...

  • An enjoyable wine. Medium bodied with a good length. Blackberry, plum, vanilla, cedar on the palate. It is well balanced with fine tannins. Great value considering what you get.

  • Well it smells awesome. And light on its feet and on the palate. Still very young. Funny, its so jump on the back that I am guessing that is why it didnt' sell. ITs all there, just cracked open too. We shall see how it develops.

  • A really nice wine, opened and drank half last night and am drinking the rest while i write this note. Color is deep maroon, nose of dark fruit, the palate is dark berries, plums, some cigar box, dried thyme and red meat. The finish is smooth and of good length. Unfortunately my only bottle.

  • A bit of vanilla, cedar, and fruit on the nose, followed by a mix of dark berries and plums on the palate. Medium body with moderate tannins and a lingering finish. There was some sediment remaining in bottle. We really enjoyed this wine. Went too quickly. Delicious and drinking very well, but structure to improve with further age.

  • Gave about two hours of air in the decanter. Dark brick, amber, purple in the glass. Nose of black tar, minerals, pepper, dry stone, light eucalyptus, dusty damp spaces. On the palate, black fruit and some coffee. Strong shoulders, yet restrained enough tannin to not overwhelm. Plenty of old world characteristics surrounding a more bold intensity of dark caramelized fruits. Definitely a well executed Australian Bordeaux style here. Lots to ponder and enjoy on the finish as well.
