Ljuvlig. Väl balanserad med mörka bär, silkiga tanniner, bra syra och lång eftersmak. Tillsammans med Hjortinnanlår och palsternackspuré härlig middag tills m Ulf o Ingalill

I believe this is at the front of the drinking window here. The nose is youthful mineral driven fruit. The palate hits with youthful raspberry cola and a lot of it here. Clove and some mature plums and figs also present. I'd rate this wine a 93 alone on the entry. It gets a little more complex to the middle but also gets noticeably darker with tobacco and herb and smoked mulling spices dancing around. This wine finishes very smooth and rounded, with the finish really being the only hint that this one has the finesse of age really starting to work in it's favor. This wine definitely was made to go with duck, game, or charcuterie that consists of smoked meats and pungent cheeses. Since this is America, and we have a tendency to open wine without significant food accoutrement, I will say that this one did pretty well all by itself. Although I can't necessarily say that it would have done so 5 years ago when the finish was likely much more jagged and acidic. Drink now to 2040. On day 2, this one had gotten one full shade darker and more complex. It added some bacon fat from the front to the middle, and the front lost the raspberry cola notes and turned to more of a black cherry cola. The structure of this wine is insane. Although it is in a really good spot now with a really healthy decant, this one will probably outlive the cork that was put in the bottle!

Compact purplish colour. A young, powerful and elegant nose with ripe dark fruit including blackberries, liquorice and some tar, some flowery notes. Full-bodied but fresh, with the same dark notes as in the nose although with more presence of tar notes, fine acidity, prominent but well embedded and rather silky tannins, some "gravelly" minerality and a long aftertaste with tannins. Young but reasonably approachable, will improve with further cellaring. 95(+) pts. From a magnum.

Double Blind Syrah Tasting (Eddie V/s): I liked this more than most at the table, sour cherry, cranberry, rhubarb, a touch of green, strong saline character, it's definitely cool climate and although drinks well as a PnP, it should have a good 5-10 years of developing left on it. Good but not great.

From a magnum, the bottle was opened, but not decanted, for an hour before we drank it. For 3 out of 8 of my wine group, this was the favorite. I really liked it, but don't see WA's 99 points. I enjoyed the 2009 La Jota Cabernet that we had alongside it, better. A nose of black fruits, and maybe some burnt sugar sweetness. Long finish, without ever being overpowering.

Classy floral nose of violets, blueberry, sloe, blackberry and black raspberry i.e. the whole spectrum of black and blue fruits. Sweetness from oak but in a moderate way. Great stuffing and fruit, good structure and acidity. Fantastic finish with a smokey dimension added. Fascinating wine!

Decanted for 2 hours. Young but modern and approachable. Charred oak, cherry liqueur, lavender, cola, and earthy minerals. Obviously has 2 decades of life ahead of it. Layers begin to really come out after 5 hours.

It’s been over a year since the last time I tasted the ‘11 Les Bessards, and the evolution here continues to impress. On the nose, I found a multi-layered display of dark savory black fruits, charred meat, brown sugar, exotic spices, saline-minerals and hints of olive. On the palate, I found weighty, silky textures, giving way to ripe blackberry fruit and plum, then a burst of minerals and ginger. Velvety tannin coated the palate through the finish, which was remarkably long with black fruits, smoke and hints of spice cookie. As rich and intense as this was, it never became overbearing or heavy. Gorgeous.

The nose seemed almost impossibly deep and intense with dark rich blackberry preserves, brown sugar, licorice, violets, tobacco and spice. On the palate, it showed dark, silky textures contrasted by finesse with focused blackberry and plum fruit seeming to touch on all the senses. The finish was long with fine tannin nearly masked by its dark fruit, spice and herbal tones.

An elegant mix of perfume and berries but with a disturbing sweetness. Needs 48 hours of air to really come around, integrate and stabilize. After that a bit dark and rather thick. Developed and improved for every day that passed but why so sweet?
