Gave this several hours in the decanter. Nose of barnyard, mushrooms and boysenberry - dark but slightly tart. Very earthy on the palate with bramble and notes of dusty strawberries. Lean, lightly acidic and very, very easy to drink. Great on night two as well. Exceeded my expectations once again.

Medium garnet with a light lilac nose. Tart berry on the tongue with some woody tannins, a little residual sweetness to balance the tart red berries. A bit of strawberry, red currants and rhubarb to go with the smoky tannins and salad of forest greens.

Elegant in style, with excellent purity and flavor concentration. Light to medium in body with a nice core of fresh red cherry fruit, so fresh that there are some green edges, though it only adds to the appeal for me. Also shows good medium persistence on the finale. This has really improved over the last year. I'm probably going to give my last bottle some extended cellar time to see how it evolves. Another five years should be no problem.

This is a delicious, juicy pinot in a style i don't see from the US very much. Compulsively drinkable but not simple. Fruity but not sweet. Very fun. Comes across as fairly French.

always an interesting pinot. There is a prevalent animal hide funk - even smoked animal hide. This is in the nose, palate and finish. While this might seem unpleasant, it isn't - it is integrated well with reduced ripe raspberries and rhubarb pie filling. There is also a very nice tang on the finish. There was a bit of spritz on opening but that soon went away. The wine continues to evolve and can be enjoyed now with air. I can also see this wine evolve a bit more. All in all - pretty damn impressive for $24.

Really shined on day two without food. Good florals, concentrated red fruit on the nose. Very energetic freshness, and tartness to the red cherry and raspberry fruit. Finishes gracefully, medium in length.

Intriguing aromas of floral dark berries, fallen pine, smoked spice, and herbs. Racy, nervy and medium bodied on the palate, this is quite primary, though filled with vivid, cool dark berries, bright flowers, and hints of savory funk. Juicy red berry acidity, orange peel, dried herbs direct the finish. Excellent, with room to improve in the cellar. Drink or hold.

A little time in bottle has made a difference in the best way. Crushed raspberries and cranberries with the faintest hint of carnival cotton candy intertwine with sweet earth and vanilla oak. The funk is absent this time around. Zingy acidity carries the palate from start to finish, but with a light creaminess lending to the slightest tannic grip, attaching cheek to gums like static long after the finish. I love this wine, and only one bottle left that would probably be best in 2 years.

This was all rubber bands upon opening. The funk receded after an hour or so, bringing cherry, strawberry, leather, and mushroom to the nose. On the palate it's light-bodied with berry, cola, and earth notes, fresh acidity, and smooth tannins. One of the best at this price point.

I agree w/other's notes, although I didn't experience the funk. But mine must've had some secondary fermentation going on that caused carbonation. When I poured it into the glass, it was even visually apparent as the entire surface of the wine was covered w/bubbles. It diminished the experience. If I had to numerically rate it, I'd say it would be low 70's.

I think I've had enough 2011 Pinot now to say that this wine epitomizes the vintage. Light, under-ripe red fruits with spice, violets and traces of earth... dsgris and jshearer nailed this one down pretty well. Not much else to add for me. Much more depth and complexity on the 2nd night, though. Elegant and pretty...

Light red, peppery nose. Dry, tart red berries, Vita C, petrol, fresh with light body, some green stem tannins. Good summer wine. The strong acid should allow for some aging.

Enjoyed this wine, wasnt the most complex out of the group but from what I was told on the price I would buy this again, funky, good acidity structure, would love to actually visit the winery on of these days
Too young for me to score accurately, but lots of upside. Even on Day 2, this is pretty tight. Smells remarkably fresh for a young Cameron Pinot Noir. No discernible "funk" that I have come to expect after the past several vintages. Red fruit trending dark with tart notes, maybe a light squeeze of ruby grapefruit. Freshly turned damp earth and some savory minerality. Energetic acidity in the mouth, even after half the bottle sat on the counter overnight, and definite tannin structure. I'm going to let this one rest at least a year before checking in again. 90-92?
