Clear medium gold in color. Classic Chenin nose of wet wool. High acid, citrus/green apple/Asian pear/apricot/white peaches. Lots of minerality. Opens with some time in glass and some warming to be more stone fruits. Delicious now but have another bottle to sit on for a bit longer.

Last btl of this one. At first I thought it was on the edge and tasted a tad overripe and a bit oxidative. This blew off revealing a nice typical chenin with ripe pear, peaches, and tons of mineral. Acid is spot on. The overall quality of Anjou is very high for the price. Looking forward to baja fish tacos with this one for dinner tonight. I think it is going to sing.

Another bar dinner at Rouge Tomate, another tasty Chenin Blanc from their by the glass menu. (Definitely a must visit NYC resto for Chenin heads or wine geeks in general) This one really opened up with a bit of time in the glass and warming to room temp. On the nose minerality and stone fruit. On the palate I found this to have nicely balanced acidity and creaminess - lemon cream and pear notes. A very enjoyable glass of wine.

Very typical chenin profile. Muted nose of yellow fruits. In the mouth, ripe pair, crushed rock, some rosewater. Acid comes in nicely in the midpalate. Finish is longer than I would have expected. Better on the colder side.

I've enjoyed many bottles of wine from the Loire region over the years, but this is my first experience with a white from the Anjou AOC. Given its age and recommended CT drinking window, I figured I needed to get to this before it completely died. Very tight cork when opening, put into a chilling carafe to allow it to settle, aerate, and stay chilled as I enjoyed the sunny day. Reflects a translucent light golden color when poured into the glass. Much to my enjoyment, this bottle is still very viable and definitely drinkable. Light aromatics of minerality and mixed white fruits. Palate is mostly dry with a very, very slight tinge of creamy sweetness on the tongue; flavor profile yields baked apple, lemon merragune, juicy pear, and hint of tart ginger balanced with some lingering acidity, and some saline. Fairly complex favors. Solid medium long, crisp finish. Paired well with Manchego cheese and Triscuit crackers. Hopefully, this is a good representation of Chenin Blanc from this region. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Chenin Blanc / blend from this region in the future.

45F. Open 30 - 90 minutes. Darkish yellow. Nose with apple and pear. Full mouth with some oil/cream feel and apple pie on the palate. Hinting at oxidation. Nice finish and overall good chenin blanc but don't think it will last much longer. Went well with grilled scallops and people drank it quickly...

Golden in color, hinting at the slightly oxidative palate. Ginger and baked apple flavors and aromas, very pleasant, with a lemony acidity that holds it all together and keeps it focused. Good with broccoli pasta with walnuts, as the nuttiness of the wine paired nicely.

Blind tasting; Nose of baked apples, raosted pie, end on cognac. Mouth deliberatly oxydised, with a sufficient acidity central line, final on acceptable bitter. Region guessed without difficulty. Drink now, low potential of cellaring.

Monthly Tasting Group: Right Bank Bordeaux (Levain, Mpls): Light gold color. Small pour. I found this to be a nice example of Loire SB. There was a nice citrus character, grapefruit, and mineral. The palate was similar tart, with good balance and a medium finish. Very solid and a good QPR.

Enjoyed more than last bottle. Nice lemon nose with hint of spice - mineral palate with good body, especially as it warms a bit from the fridge. Very good with moderately creamy cheese.

Good, but uninspiring. A round waxy texture with some citrus, yeast and peaches... but this just falls a bit flat on the palate. Not low in acid, it just seems to lack energy.

Varnish and lemon. Was hoping for something a little more rounded. Have a few more bottles and will open over the next few years.

less ginger, and more apple and lemon. I just don't light that slightly oxidative taste. Have given it a try, but prefer the appley crispness.

K&L Hollywood Loire Tasting (K&L Wines, Hollywood): Bright yellow. Aroma of lees, lemon drop. Great acidity. Not bad, but I'm not a fan of buttery flavors that mask the grape.
