Indeed like what a taster described few years ago. It drank like a 96 Salon without bubbles. It was youthful and precise but not fully unfolding the Monty weight and dimension.

Terlato Great Burgundy Producer Dinner (Tangley Oaks - Lake Bluff IL): I've had this wine at least a half dozen times before, but never before from 9L directly from the domaine. This was as rich and unctuous as white Burgundy could be, while simultaneously elegant and texturally dancing with brightness. Rich, complex and unfolding.

Started as a bit mature, nutty, slightly sherry-ish - but evolved quite quickly into a deep, long complex wine. Bit of honey suckle, white flowers, honey. Particularly paired with cheese it showed its super star qualities. Give it some time after opening.

Most Epic Burgundy Dinner (Boulevard - San Francisco CA): Tasted double blind. Started off most subdued in the flight with lemon peel, apple, pear and floral hints. Picked up weight with more time in glass, as more spice also emerged. Only faint mint coming through tonight. Very elegant.

Solid flavors, just needs more time. If you like them crispy go now with some shellfish, or wait 10 years and enjoy with ribs! Excellent wine, lucky to have a few more bottles,

Looked like 96 Salon without the bubbles. It was incredibly youthful with a pale colour and green tinges. It was lean, sinewy and muscular with citrus and white peach fruits and a chalk-laden finish. A few of us wondered if it would eventually ever flesh out before it oxidised but you have to marvel at this piercingly pristine wine.

If a diamond could be liquified, it might taste like this. Absolutely crystalline purity and superb structure. Textbook Montrachet that has a long life ahead of it. A

Cru Crew Wine dinner hosted by Brad England (Mara restaurant at the Four Seasons hotel in Minneapolis, MN.): Served alongside the '92, '00 and '07. Dark orange. Flat, obviously oxidized.

Montrachet Dinner: 10 Vintages of Ramonet and Marquis de Laguiche, 1983-2002 (Oceana - New York NY): Very dark color, very advanced. Still pleasant and drinkable, but that isn't enough for Montrachet.

Oxidized. Sad, but not unexpected. Clearly showing great fruit underneath.
