Very good. Clear, medium-deep, ruby with a narrow rim. Clean, medium (+) fully developed nose of blackberry, vanilla, black pepper and earth. Dry, medium acidity, medium (+) alcohol (14%), medium (+) fine grippy tannins, medium bodied, medium (+) flavour intensity with blackberry, vanilla, cedar and black pepper. Medium length. Very good, balanced, good structure and puckering but fine tannins. Primary fruit a little simple. Drink now, and is fresh for 7 years old, could potentially age a couple more years, worried primary fruit will run out before full tertiary development and tannins are resolved. Excellent QPR. Cork.

Great QPR. Simple, full-bodied, broad-shouldered, ripe fruit. Another one of those wines always good to have when the fun, big and simple sippers visit.

brambles, plum and mostly reddish fruit character, a slightly cassis flavour, vanilla, sweetish herbs and chocolate.. loses body quite quickly which really is disappointing

RQP: ***1/2

This is a very young Ribera Del Duero crianza. Really characteristic in the sense it is always drinkable, but significantly benefits from aging. I deem this as yet immature. I think the score will go up as the years glide by!

Weekly tasting group #128; A mixed set of wines. (@ DJ): Red and dark berry fruits in the bouquet, some chocolate as well. Same on the palate. Sweet spices, ok acidity, round and soft tannin and a good concentration. Although not really exclusive, this is a very nice and correct wine. Ready now and the next two years or so.

Disagree with Wine Spectator's 91. They are usually more conservative. I think this wine does not live up to its potential from the Torres family. Nice wine but not great.

the nose is very weak at the open, after decanting in a decanter for an hour or so, the wine begins to open up (but the nose is still weak). The nose has light aromas of caramel/vanilla, red fruit and floral (violet). I agree with some other CT drinkers, this wine has low acidity and a mono bitter herbal palate. Somehow I feel this wine is sleeping. I still have 1/2 bottle left and see if it will evolve the next day. +5+9+14+6=84pts

Nice smooth red that is not as good as previous. I think this is showing its age a little and/or could be very subtly flawed - i get a hint of oxidized or port like quality on nose and palate that underlies the experience. Fruit is dark berry, soft and med+. Very little acid and tannin to speak of, and comes off a little flat actually. Tarrant gave a better review and different experience a year ago. I will try a second bottle, but otherwise, one is enough.

Another excellent example from Ribera, very nice all around with all the qualities you would want from Tempranillo - Dark, full bodied with a nose of plum, cherry, graphite, cedar and vanilla, very well structured and balanced, interesting, smooth on the palate with excellent length (90 Points).

Very closed - deep dark brooding nose; oak on the entry, good Tempranillo fruit also. Nice concentration. Tasty but not particularly complex or memorable. Entry level Ribera.
