This was a home run in my book. Lots of red cherry and red raspberry up front, a touch of plum, but all in a bright juice style and not jammy or thick. A little bit of cola then a subtle meatiness with a long, light oak finish. Good before dinner and with dinner as well.

Wine at the Beach; 9/11/2020-9/13/2020: Delicious wine. Notes of sweet, red fruit, raspberries, cassis, blackberries and some spice on the finish. This was tasty with the herbal rack of lamb. But in hindsight, the Evening Land would have been better with the food (more herbal and savory) and this on its own.
A lovely bottle. Quite elegant.
Drink now or hold.

Ed Kurtzman Dinner (Luciana's, Dana Point, CA): Oaky nose, dark roasted cherries. Backend of the palate has lots of spice, in fact, it's like jalapeño pepper and it hangs around for a long time. Very good wine and super complexity at this young age.

Ed Kurtzman Comes To Dinner (2015) (Luciana's In Dana Point (South OC)): Drank this next to the 05. The 12 is leaner in body, shows of course more structure. The 12 too has better core acidity, depth and to me, doesn't exhibit the fruit ripeness of the 05. Has similar cola/root beer, dark raspberry and differing from the 05, there is red apple here which is cool. I also found red cherry in the 12, which I didn't in the 05, so overall, I'd say the vineyard is showing a different profile of fruit as it picks up vine age.

A dark one. Nose of sweet cassis, blackberries and black raspberries. Palate shows beautifully refined red/black fruit profile with the black raspberries up front. Some red cherries and cool toned cassis is in the mix. Love the savory note that is sewn right into the fabric of this one. Balance is deft and tannins stored in the background. Tiny notes of sarsaparilla and cola tells me this is clearly a Sonoma Pinot. I also get some tea leaf and orange rind--- just a bit. To me, this feels like a cross between Sonoma County and Anderson Valley as it reflects what is good from both those areas. Finish is long and vibrant with the good things I just told you about. This never stops giving. Cool, because I will keep taking...

Fresh off the truck, faint bell peper on the nose, than you dive in, rich moca broth, chocolate, rabbit blood, needs time, but I'm still impressed with the ballance and drink me impluse it hits you with

Falltacular 2014 (FMIII in the OC): Interesting, the shows dark plum and a bit of prune but not overtly. Medium short finish and a light tart note.

Tasted this at Pinot Days in NYC with Ed Kurtzman. A hint of fruit. It was my favorite of the day at this table.
