The wine could use 30 minutes of decanting...but it is in great shape. Smells of cherries, oregano, tobacco. Great tastes of dark sour cherries, balsamic and a touch of tobacco. Nice acid and tannins. Long, smooth finish.
I have one more...wish I had a case.

Ok. Not great. The oak here detracts a bit. Some drying somewhat bitter tannins on the finish. Hopefully the oak integrates more with time. Definitely needs a decant.

Complex, herbal, floral, but not an outgoing nose (although it did come out after a while with floral and cherry notes). Would have rated this higher except had a rather overdone woody flavor.

Cherries, and maybe a hint of smoke on the nose. Big cherry flavor on the palate, with us medium mouthfeel anda medium finish. To eat with a modicum of fat in the meal really enhances the full flavor. Not quite worth the $30 price tag until eaten with fatty food - in our case, buttered bread to sop up the sauce on the plate!

Also a day 2 glass; similar in color to the Corino Giachini. Earthy red & black fruit on the nose.
Maybe lacking a little acidity, but not bad. Not a producer that I generally seek out, although bottles do sneak into my cellar from time to time. This is certainly an acceptable Chianti, but no one would confuse this with a top producer.

A light translucent ruby in the glass, with earthy accents and red fruits on the nose.
Decent acidity frames the tart red fruit. Light- to medium-bodied, a little short on the finish, but all in, pretty likable right now, with no indications of any near-term decline.

My only bottle of this vintage. Very tight and restrained. Initially thin, bitter and extremely tannic. Needed over an hour in the glass to even begin to open up. Added some weight after that point, and hints of sour cherry and blackberry fruit began to peek out from beneath a solid wall of tannins. Much better with food, its lively acidity made this a good pairing with our eggplant parmigiana. There's plenty of structure here, so more patience may be required. Still, I doubt this will ever be anywhere near as good as the fantastic 2006 and 2010. 50+5+12+14+7=88

Subsequent notes on this lovely wine. Deep dark reddish garnet in color. Fragrant & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & herbal notes, spices, anise, balsamic notes, pepper, minerals, some dark cocoa notes and toasty oak in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, rich, ripe fruit flavors of sweet red cherries, blueberries & plums with spices & herbs, earthy, minerals, licorice, pepper, a touch of dark cocoa and a bit of toasty oak. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting and extended airing but will continue developing with further aging.

Clear medium ruby with minimal bricking; nose is aromatic with cherry, plenty of spice, nutmeg, earth, good complexity and depth on the nose; palate is medium bodied, medium-plus youthful tannins, decent red fruit, medium to medium-plus acidity; finish fades a tad and is short-medium length. Overall this is approachable now, has an excellent nose, respectable balance on the palate, would go well with a meal, and may improve for ~5 years. Good value for an everyday wine at $25 that is classically Italian/Chianti Classico. 89-90 Over the next 3 hours, the complexity on the nose faded a bit and it lost a bit of what made it unique and have character. Still good, but not superb. 89

I like this wine, and might have given it a higher rating except for the fact that I have been tasting so many other much better wines this past week and this is setting my current temporal scale. This wine has good acid/tannin balance, but the acid attack is pretty aggressive even for a Chianti. The midpalate fruit was bright and consistent, but didn't take as dominant a role as one would like. There was good leather and earthiness on the nose. The son was feeling very generous and pronounced a 91 (he didn't get to taste the other great wines of the week).

Takes a couple of hours in decanter to blossom, but once it starts to open it's quite lovely. Lithe, tart, tarry and tannic with wonderful cherry and strawberry fruit and an appealing phunk to the nose. Gets better with each taste. It will be nice to watch it evolve over the next few years.

PnP. Deep red. Exuberant cherry and sandalwood nose. Gutsy on the palate with deep fruit and tangy acidity but this must have some Merlot or another grape besides Sangiovese to be this juicy. Still some tannins to resolve on the finish but although atypical still enjoyable.
Didn't love it. Very mild, even after it breathed. Spicy notes. No fruit. Brandy-like nose. Muted flavor in mouth, with more flavorful finish. Wouldn't buy again, but we drank it earlier (5 yrs) than recommended.

popped and poured. Started like a typical Chianti but nicely balanced for being so young. Nose and palate seemed pretty typical for chianti also, but the wine finished with powerful structure. As the wine opened up over a few hours, the structure became more and more compelling, and deliciously stimulating. could have easily polished off the remainder of the bottle that night
day 3: a little oxidized, but the delicious structure was still yummy and intense. I will buy this again and take more detailed notes on it.

popped and poured.

Bright berry fruit with herbs, peppery spices, and aged balsamic vinegar. Light mouthfeel. Drinking fine now. Tannic finish is appropriate.

Was OK, but I would not purchase. A lot of spices. ( pepper ) on the finish. Very good wine , but not for my palate

Deep dark reddish garnet in color; almost opaque. Fragrant, attractive & youthful nose of rich, ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & plums with spices & herbs, earthy/dusty, minerals, some dark cocoa notes and toasty oak in the background. Medium-deep bodied with a very good concentration of balanced, youthful, rich, ripe fruit flavors of sweet cherries, blackberries & plums with spices & herbs, earthy, minerals, a touch of dark cocoa and a bit of toasty oak. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting and extended airing but will benefit and needs an additional three to five years for further development.

Really loved this chianti, research paid off, been disappointed by so many. This is lusciously dry.

Extraordinary value. Very smooth and integrated fruit, tannins and acidity. Finished the bottle the next night and it remained jusgt as enjoyable.
