Drank with John and Tiffany to celebrate John's 40th birthday. So much improved from 5 years ago! The blackberry catches you first, followed by anise and spice. Still grippy with integrated tannins. This still has a good few years left at peak! Perfect for a cool night sunset cruise on the lake.

Opened, decanted, and drank over four hours. Ruddy brownish burgundy in color Sweet tobacco, plums, vanilla, oak, black tea. Amaze! Full bodied. The sweet dark fruit characteristics carry through. Long finish. Taste largely follows the nose. Very nice wine. Fair QPR.

Amazing wine that’s drinking perfectly right now. I’m thinking open another closer to the end of the year and save the others for 2021. Dark fruit (not overly fruity) rich dark color smooth tannins. Was perfect from start to finish, great dinner wine.

Dark frothy purple, full bodied Tons of dark fruit. Blackberries, blueberries, some wet wool, anise Well balanced. Nice acidity and tannin. Tastes like the nose with a medium finish. EXCELLENT QPR (+1pt) Not even close to being a fruit bomb however. Lot's of nuances. Well made wine. Drinking perfectly right now.
This wine really blew me away. I wish I had more than one bottle left. Lovely wine for the price.

Good, but having had it just after the estate bottling from the same vintage, isn't on par with that wine (but also is about 1/3 the cost). I really like this wine, it just wasn't given a fair shot that night.

I was disappointed in this bottle. It was far more rustic than the felt gloved Cade's I've had in the past. The vineyard mix on this one is different as well, and there is no merlot in this blend (with an increased amount of petit verdot (13%) and malbec. I'm going to set my other bottle aside until 2021 or so and see how this wine has evolved. This wine seems Bordeaux-like, so I am hoping for a good ageing process.

As predicted, this Cab has gained weight, depth and concentration over the past year. Dark plum like fruit with notes of cassis, dark chocolate and spice. Good structure with tannins that are still active...expect this wine will have many years in it to fully settle down.

A nose of black currant, black cherry and a dose of vanilla leads way to a full bodied silky palate that is well balanced with dark fruit, dark chocolate along with mineral and herbal flavors that linger on the finish.

Purple and opaque. The nose is brooding with dark fruit and vanilla. Plumbs, cherries, raspberries, dark chocolate and a structured minerailty dominate the palate and the finish but it's clear the fine is young and there is more hiding. Assuming this is a blend there is a fair bit petit verdot. Very nice but I'd give it more time. 5+12+16+8=92

A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Petit Verdot, 10% Malbec and 2% Cabernet Franc, this opaque ruby wine is the product of grapes sourced from multiple Napa Valley vineyards. Intensely aromatic, it offers cassis, black cherry, anise, iron and dark chocolate on both the nose and palate. Full-bodied, round and with big sweet tannins, it has a velvety character and shows no sign of heat from its reported 15.0% alcohol. Solid in the middle and closing with medium length, this is a deftly balanced wine. Softly textured yet sturdy, it maintains a nice focus on pure flavors. Drink now-2025.

NY eve dinner @ Market Fish in LF. Although we had seafood wanted a cab badly. This was very good. Very bordeaux like vs bold napa. Great color, delicate nose of fruit and spice. On palate lots of elegance between fruit / wood / spice. Great long finish. Give it 3 more years. This was our first Cade, very good.

With a couple days open in the cellar this starts to display the purity of fruit from the 10 vintage. A bit ponderous at first, this brightens up and shows its structure and class. Pleasantly surprised. I'd drink this 2020 to 2028.

Medium bodied with blackberry fruit and active tannins even after three hours of decanting. While drinking very nice was expecting a bigger finish and wine from this Cade Cab. Expect this to gain weight over time.

Jammy black cherry/dark berry nose has a touch of sweet (but oh-so-dry!) plum and floral cassis notes. The palate is smoky oak laid over a potpourri of berries, with a vanilla bean finish. There is the faintest touch of heat, but that shouldn't be any surprise on vintage this brand new with ABV 15% stated on the label. Sounds funny to say nice QPR at this price point, but this stands tall compared to much more expensive Cade brothers from higher elevations and is a joy to drink. Heat will dissipate with bottle rest or extended decant; so I don't consider it a detriment at all. Great wine that will only get better if I can leave it alone to rest... 91++

Napa Wines With John Conover (Civil Cigar Lounge - Washington, DC): Smells so floral and fresh, with blackberries, rose petals, vanilla bean and sweet mocha. The palate is full of flavor, but so silky, fresh and downright sexy. Sweet berries, kirsch, vanilla, cedar, cola and root beer flavors abound. So pure and lively, with notes of loam and potpourri on the finish. Seems like one of the most approachable 2010 Napa Cabs I’ve tasted, although it’ll improve for four to five years easily.
