This wine is drinking outstanding at ten years old. The palate was white flowers and brioche. The palate was melon, mango, vanilla and brioche leading to a long finish. Served with Sunday night sushi.

Well we were having our usual contingent of about 15 people over for Fathers Day. White wine and rose on the patio followed by the grand buffet at my club. I decided this year to taste all the wines before anyone got here as I am sure by the end of the evening they will all taste like Dr. Brown's Cream soda. You can tell I am originally from NYC. This wine is brilliant. Light golden yellow in color. The nose was white flowers, citrus and pineapple. The palate was stone fruit, pineapple, lemon curd, vanilla and the closer to room temperature it took on the flavor of toasted brioche leading to the long finish. Had somebody poured this for me blind at what I realize is the perfect drinking temperature I would have guessed a Corton-Charlemagne from a prestige vineyard. I have one bottle left and that will be for a special occasion.

Drinking very well. No significant change since tasted upon release. Should go without saying, but don't drink too cold. Needs some, but flavors much better when closer to room temp. Great flavors and nice acid still. Am looking forward to the 2015 when released to compare.

I love Pahlmeyer chard and gave been buying it from the winery for more yhan 20 years. I bought a case of the 2912 napa chard. Its been kept in cellar at constant 55 degrees. The first 2 bottles had good nose and good fruit in the mouth but a slightly bitter undertaste. I kept it over night after pumping the bottle. Today, no fruit and extremely bitter. The cork is not bad or deteriorated. Has anyone else eperienced this with this vintage? All I could think of was heat in transit or some bottle contaminaton. I let the winery know. Don't want reimbursement, just thought they should be aware. Would love to hear your thoughts.

Luis Turns 60 (St. Genevieve): Pop and pour, drank a glass over about an hour. This wine is all butter and oak. Definitely full-bodied with heavy oak treatment. The finish is a little flabby. It is tasty to drink, but not that complex. However, we came back to the opened bottle a couple hours later, and it had improved significantly. It was more balanced and actually had some acidity, with a saline quality and minerality. If I had another bottle of this, I would decant it for 1 hour.

If you like fruit-forward, rich, buttery oaky chardonnays, like me, this is a winner! It also has some crisp acidity to please a wide range of palates, but I appreciate the pear and butterscotch flavors that are pronounced on the palate. Currently, some will find the oak too dominant, but with plenty of fruit and acidity in the background. Therefore, I believe this wine will benefit from a couple years of bottle age, and merit an even higher score, as well as become more pleasing to those who do not like oaky chardonnays.

Explosivr notes of butter, smoke, vanilla, ripe lemon, pineapple and some exotic fruit. Also some christmas spices (maybe it's the christmas spirit :-) ). It's full bodied opulent and powerful with medium+ acidity snd very good lemgth. An impressive, powerful Napa Chardonnay.

Light Yellow in the glass. Aromas of Hazelnut, White flowers, and toasted oak. On the palate the wine is oily with a brioche, yeasty entry that leads to a creamy honeydew finish. Drink now-2020.

Monthly Tasting Group: Blind Pinots Worldwide (The Dakota, Mpls, MN): Light-medium gold color. Well this was a definite "about face" form what we had been drinking to this point (largely steely, minerally wines, but if can manage to separate yourself from that, this is a big, lush, decadent chard that is balanced. Sure, it has oak, butter, ripe fruit, a full bodied dense texture, but its all in place. Very good in a big Cali style. Buyer beware if you don't like the style. .

A terrific Chardonnay with a bouquet of flowers and peaches, this wine was very balanced with strong citrus fruit flavors and bright acidity. Not at all "buttery" like many Chardonnays, it was crisp and fruity with a hint of lemon zest. Enjoyed by several of us who do not typically enjoy Chards. Paired unbelievably well with a Delice De Pommard with Mustard Seeds (triple cream soft goat cheese). Well worth the money.

Pahlmeyer Tasting with Kurt from Maverick (Senor Pan - Chicago): Fresh, minerals. Light lemon and a touch of pineapple. light buttered popcorn. Subtle qualities. Faint lemon lime peel. Lots of richness and length. Darker robust tropical fruit. Nice but over priced.

Unfiltered, slightly cloudy. WOW - everybody was blown away (6 people). Variegated nose with different fruits coming through, really enticing. Big fruit on the palate, flowing with nice complexity and balance, perfect acidity - the whole package really takes hold of you and lasts for a nice finish.

Needs time but nose starts off as beautiful peach and apricot and then citrus. Full bodied palate, waves of stone fruit and honey, long finish. Touch heavy on oak and alcohol needs time to integrate. Really nice and could easily hit 94+ if alcohol integrates.
Was very thin/soft upon opening. After an hour opened up. After a day (in the fridge and corked), was completely different and much bolder. Notes above are from the post-fridge tasting.

Rich and powerful but with great natural acidity. Unfiltered so ideally it would be placed upright for a day or so prior to drinking. The palate has lots of smoky notes with lemon pie and tropical notes.

One of the best Pahlmeyer Napa Chards in years. This is rich and robust but somehow retains freshness. The nose is young with a burst of tropical fruit but also show fresh lemons and mint. Deep palate with caramel with bracing acidity. Really similar to Auberts Chards.
