First bottle of 12. Nose tells me this is a warm vineyard and a warm vintage. Youthful black red colour. Toasty cinnamon oak and the liquer cherry that I usually see in Morot wines. Rich, ripe fruited but four square. Almost Syrah like in the richness of the fruit, menthol and lack of florals. Will not rush to open another. Let’s see what 2030 brings.

Brought out to dinner and didn't get time to decant, but did have over 1+ hour with time in glass to open. Yet it didn't open much. I'm not sure if this was a faintly flawed bottle, but it had a hint of basement and suppressed aromas. Fairly taut. Not much to add here...

Very well structured with firm tannins and savory cherry liqueur fruit integrated intto the oak. 13.5 abv balanced by the lively acidity and juducious use of new french ooak. Taste of terroir here

89-90+ pts. Ripe strawberry fruit, berries, minerals, somewhat tannic, with high acidity. Good depth. Very solid wine as expected from this producer and vineyard.

Teurons is noted as a warm site, and there is some toasty fruit early on, with a nice acid backbone, characteristic of the year. It's not entirely forward at the moment, and the finish is quite medicinal, due in part to its elevage (see link), but I like the wine's depth and concentration. This could be an underrated vintage for Teurons, which tends to get overripe in hot years (see 1990). (90-92pts). Drink late 2018-2028+ http://domaineselect.com/product/beaune-premier-cru-teurons/

I agree totally with Clive Coates. I think he uses too much oak. It hides the wonderful fruit. I will hold my final bottle for 5 years. Maybe things will change.
An alluring nose of small red fruits, cool earth, and hints of herbs that keeps you coming back for more. Elegant. However, it currently does not follow through and the fruit seems mostly buried under grit and tannins. Mind you the tannins are not harsh and it is still enjoyable to drink, but I'm hoping this integrates over the years.
I'll add that notes (from memory) were fairly consistent from PnP, in the glass, and a glass worth left in the bottle a couple of nights.

My first 2012 Burgundy! Impressive right out of the gate, with lots of grippy purple fruit and serious oomph - I don't remember any 2010s that were as deep and rich on release as this. The thing is, though, that I preferred the first glass to the ones subsequent. The more it aired out the more the cedary oak emerged and started to dry out the pretty fruit. There is some gritty tannic structure here as well so it's pretty dry on the palate once the initial burst of sweet fruit recedes. Mature vintages of this have an interesting slatey/gravelly minerality to them and there is a hint of that here, but it will need time to eat its oak, which it can probably manage because the wood flavors were gone in the leftovers the next day, although the structure remained rugged.

Tastes way too woody and oaky; the fruit is almost totally obscured.

Standard Morot. Excellent balance, not particularly complex, dark cherry, earthy notes. Such a consistent producer.

Bad bottle. Or over the hill. But likely the former.

A little tannic still, tight, but great cherry fruit. Needs a few years but should be nice.
