Bottle 2 of 2. Very long cork (2 1/8") in great condition, wine has penetrated only 1/2". Decanted 60 minutes. Colour is dark ruby with hints of garnet, watery rim. Some sediment in bottom of glass/bottle and film down the back of the bottle. Aromas of meat, olives, leather, fresh green leaves. Flavours of sour cherry, blackberry, cranberry, but overall savoury. Medium-full body, high- acid, XD, medium tannin, medium alcohol (13%). Long finish. Day 2 had more toast, vanilla, and spices esp. pepper. Good pairing with orzo salad and sausage.
So did I see any evolution compared to my first bottle, which I opened six years ago? Some, but not a whole lot. Colour is still pretty dark, aromas and flavours are a bit more savoury, body and acidity are the same, tannins are slightly more integrated. Drink or hold to 2027.

Some age on rim, wood vanilla dark fruit initially on nose opening after an hour in decanter to include herbs and bay leaf. Rich blueberry & blackberry fruit, some spice and tobacco scents mid palate. Long tannins soft and silky. A lovely good value mouthful. I think ready.

Adding to be of service. 3d bottle, can't tell if change because this bottle has started to throw a lot of sediment. Not expecting, I did not handle it well, now drinking wine and sediment. Can't fully tell but this was 1 of 2 add ons, may be some temp effect although not evident from fill or cork. Expect sediment. Will watch next ones.
5/19 ... ever curious opened the 2d of 2 delivered later. These 2 are heat damaged. If reading these tasting notes, check for pristine bottle notes. A next bottle from the previous 4 was fine. This bottle starting to shed some sediment (2d half 5/20).

2d bottle, well preserved, fill almost to the long cork, medium body, ruby, no bricking (yet) for these bottles. Nice syrah nose evident at opening. Good acid balance, some tannin, red fruits. I bought these since I like mature wines, suggest they may benefit from more years. These 2 bottles not as mature as other tasters based on notes. Indeed, no sign of fading. With this, no idea if this wine will improve, suggest 2 years to apogee. To be clear it is quite pleasant now; I'm betting it will be more pleasant in time (but no reason not to drink, 4 bottles will follow this year).
4/6/23 Like it better today after sealing with Ar. Now wondering if my remaining 4 bottles should rest, or whether to buy a few more!

Decanted off sediment, back into bottle and fridge overnight. Probably didn’t need to do that, but had impromptu plans. Something of a disclaimer.
Some secondary aromas of leather and moss on the nose but lots of red fruit. Palate is medium full, good acid, smoke, lots of smooth and prominent red fruit. Finish has more of the smokiness but nice acidic red fruit. I’m not describing it well but I would say this is 50% secondary flavors and 50% primary. The fruit is just starting to dry.
Not very complex, nothing offensive, but nothing unique either. Not my style of wine and unlikely to buy again. Nonetheless, this is ready for drinking now, no need to wait.

In a good place aged 8. Dark purple, a solid wine. Classic syrah fruit and pepper, rich and highly gluggable. Blackberry, kir, tar, earth, violets. Most enjoyable as a midweek "break". Will keep for at least 5 more years no problem at all.

Very nice Northern Rhone. Lots of barnyard funk that blew off (mostly) after 2 hours. Very earthy. Palate hits big with perfectly ripe fruit: blueberry, blackberry, black raspberry. Nice, full mouthfeel, with prominant but smooth tannins. Good acidity on the medium long finish.

Bright red fruit, still tannic at this still relatively early and youthful stage (11/2020). Earthy notes, woody, but very smooth. Decanted for 90 minutes but on reflection should have gone longer as the last glass was the best. Drunk on it's own for the first half, with pasta arrabiata for the second which it matched well. First of 12 bottles, will happily wait a while for the next.

Viktig å lufte denne minimum en time før konsum. Ok følge til elg fillet.

Tasting note for the 2012 & 13 Thalabert out of half bottle. Decanted and tasted after 2 hours. No appreciable tannin and a bit of deposit left in the bottle. Lots of blue fruit, really great and Jaboulet is back on song!! I have bought the 2015 & 17 in bottles and halves. Plenty of life left here, but I will drink my 12 & 13 over the next 2 years.

Black centre, bright red rim. Full fruit nose, little sign of age yet (i.e. no hint of leather). Full in the mouth, warming, tannin on the finish. Plum dominates, hints of spice, tobacco leaf, great with food. Could easily drink it now and enjoy it young, but will keep some to allow them to mature.

Medium intense nose with aromas of meat, lots of roasted oak, coffée, fudge, ripe fruit, blackcurrants, fruit yoghurt, butter and wood.
Medium acidity+ (but round, and got that milky ML feeling), dry with plenty of fruit, round with light (woody) tannins. Medium+ intensity and the length of the finish is medium.
Decent wine, hard not to like. Not impressed though. There is a bit too much wood, both on the nose and on the palate. The acidity also feels a bit flat, and lacking edge.

Appearance: Clear, deep intensity purple colour. Thin and slow legs forming. No deposits. Nose: Clean, youthful, medium intensity aromas of blackberry, wild raspberries, hints of stems, liquorice, raw meat, black pepper, along with notes of vanilla. Palate: Wine is dry, medium acidity, a bit dry medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium (-) body. Elegant, medium intensity flavours of blackberry, raspberries, pepper, oak, liqourice, herbal notes of stems. Finish is medium (-). Conclusion: Wine of very quality, high-priced. Can drink now, but has potential for ageing. A few more years should do the trick; I like the depth of the wine but it’s clearly not Hermitage level. Nose is better than palate.
