Finally settling down into a mature phase. In the glass, rich, clear golden yellow. On the nose, lemons, toffee, and a hint of smoke. On the palate, leading with citrus, along with almost-burned sugar, oak, and a sprinkle of thyme, paired with a smooth, almost unctuous texture, which carries through the mid-palate before the unresolved tannins finally announce themselves on a long finish. None of our DuMOL chards usually survive long enough to reach this phase of evolution, but perhaps I should make a point of staying away from the last bottles a bit longer...

Pretty bright yellow. Peaches and white flowers on the nose. Nicely blended and balanced, very well put together and went great with cold roasted chicken and goat cheese grits. Citrus finish. Yummy!

Orchard fruits, butterscotch, nicely integrated oak. This is more Burgundian in style, and has developed nice secondary characteristics, yet still has enough acid to keep it going. I like where it's at, and likely will drink the rest of mine over the next 6-12 months.

You know - it's a well-made wine. I understand that, and it's pleasant enough to drink, for what that's worth. But there's nothing to distinguish it from any number of other well-made but undistinguished chardonnays.

Intense. Green apple and lime. Not some tropical pineapple toasted coconut kiwi mango-ee glass this. Some vanilla and oak on the nose. Tight finish. I agree with LVJOHN review - still very young tasting.

Very good chardonnay but not nearly up to the single vineyard or reserve dumols. Creamy on the mouth moderately long finish. Moderately priced when I bought it probably doubled now I don't know if it's worth $60 at this point.

Wow! (That's still my opinion.) Lots of flavors and quality that make this such a great bargain wine even if the price tag does not speak of inexpensive. This still tasted fresh and generous in the mouth with not sign of degradation with age.

Pop and pour. In the glass, pale, clear yellow. On the nose, equal parts oak and honeysuckle. On the palate, less oak than might be expected from the nose, with a refreshing cut of lemon and smooth texture, but still showing as a very young wine. Give this another 2-3 years...

From Magnum_Very fresh, and could use more aging for my taste...Another 2 to 3 years will do it lots of good to bring out some nuttiness. You can smell some good funky fermentation notes to go with pear, green plums, and butter...Good vibrance from brisk acidity. drink or Hold

Wow! This wine was superb. Lots of pure chardonnay flavors of citrus, tropical fruit, and just the slightest hint of wood. Very pure without any defects. It's time to start drinking this wine if you have some in the cellar. I have no idea how long it will last.

Deep yellow color, really nice bouquet of wet stones and butter. The wine has quite a bit of juicy citrus flavors, great acidity and a long pleasant finish.

Taking exception to those posting that this is an overdone Cali-Chard, I found this quite restrained. Beautifully done, straw colored with an unctuous necklace. Racy on the palate with tropical notes buttressed by key lime and sweet lemons. Picks up puffs of popcorn and very subtle marshmallow as it sits. There's some oak in there, but it's well integrated. Generous finish. Beautiful. Might be even better 2017-2020. (= Outstanding)

A nice restrained Cali-Chard with enough Oak, Stuffing, Acids and Length to make most Americans quite happy with a glass, while leaving our poor cousins across the pond probably retching and complaining that there is not enough acids and minerality to sear their palates or chip their teeth. I haven't checked out the latest Decanter or Jancis review but you get the picture. So, if you are reading this from someplace that hasn't LOST to Iceland in soccer (Football, 2-0) recently you understand.

Gorgeous. Russian River Rocker. Straw colored with lithe legs. Fragrant nose filled with spring flowers and summer fruits. On the palate, the rich, round classic California Chardonnay style, with lemons, butter and oak. But then there are lots of other notes of pears, gingers, cedars, and vanilla. Intriguing river rocks on the finish. Expensive. But worth it.

Nose of ripe pear, candied ginger, and oaky spice. Caramel and more spice in the mouth, with a finish of lemon curd. Medium-light body. Certainly a California Chardonnay, but there's decent balance and acid. Drink now through 2018.

Intensely aromatic on the nose, with expensive oak, butterscotch, cardamon, cumin seed, greengage. When the palate doesn't back it up with proper acidity and backbone it becomes cloying, unbalanced, and in the end annoying. Nope, doesn't do it for me. Overrated and overpriced.
My first taste of DuMol's chard since their '09. I was hoping for something less overt and oakey, more structured and subtle. This is a good drink if you enjoy the Cali style, but when it comes to chards, my tastes have migrated to Burgundy.

I pretty much have to copy everything from the previous reviewer. Popped and poured from a 375 and it was glorious! I would go a notch higher on the score though. I would add that the wine had a slightly creamy lemon curd element that was enjoyable as well. I could drink a half bottle of this after almost any summer day at the office.

Pop and pour from a 375 (cheers to DuMOL for offering halves this year). In the glass, clear gold. On the nose, honeysuckle and orange peel, with a hint of smoky wood. On the palate, a nice mix of fruit, minerality, and oak, with a plush texture. Very much in line with what we've come to expect.
