Taste: cherry and a bit of red berry, with just an acidity to make this wine fresh, just that amount of class that makes it interesting. Tannins are resolved now. Cote de Nuits 2012 appears to need quite a time in the cellar to reach that. 88.

Wow, this really picked up in complexity and balance with a few extra years in bottle. Drinking very nicely now, and a terrific value at $22 on release. I regret drinking the other ones too early.

Color: very dark ruby. Taste: good fruit, with strawberry and raspberry, a bit peppery, with a firm acidity, that gives the wine freshness. Juicy and with some beginning, interesting mature notes. The tannins are almost resolved, at least not really drying anymore. This firm wine has developed really well since my last TN fifteen sixteen months ago. There seems some upward potential with half a year, one year of keeping. For now 88(-89).

Tasted twice. This is just entering its drinking window to my taste. Some mature aromas appear after swirling in the glass. But it is still slightly closed. This wine is not a blockbuster, but it is very high quality and can improve still from here. Very good for its level.

Color: ruby with slight orange rims? Nose: mature notes, no fruit. Taste: slowly opening up in the course of one hour: som red berry-fruit with mushrooms and forest floor and mature notes and a quite prominent acidity. Still some tannins, that were a bit harsh. At the second day the nose was nicely open, soft, fruity (with cherry) and fresh, as well was the taste. Good with food, on its own still quite tannic. Might get better with keeping. First day (86-)87, at the second with food 88(-89).

Color: ruby(-purple). Taste: little red berry-fruit, with sous bois and mushrooms. At first the acidity was quite prominent, giving the wine a nice freshness. It took half an hour to open up in the glass. The tannins were not fully resolved and seemed a bit unripe. At the second day rather sturdy and atypical. This wine might need some more time, but I am not sure about that. Was it a lesser bottle? Next bottle not before half a year from now. 87-88.

Really nice wine. Not the same fruit as my standard Cali Pinots, but great minerality and finesse. I really like the 13% alcohol too. I would absolutely buy more of this one.

Light and bright. Little nose, but what was there was somewhat strawberry-like. Not for occasions where a rich wine is needed. I had this with a pork roast and it was perfect.

From grapes of the most northern and southern parts of the Cote de Nuits (Brochon, Couchey, Corgoloin, Premeaux and Chomblanchien). Attractive nose. Lively fruit, refined spices and a lively acidity in the taste. The tannins are not fully resolved. It took half an hour in the glass before coming together, but then it appeared to be really attractive. At the second day no real difference. The wine is not really integrated yet. For now depth is not the characteristic of this wine, but that might well appear later on. Already really enjoyable, but there seems to be upward potential after one, two more years of keeping as well. For now 88, potentially 88-89+.

Solid Burgundy for its level, red fruits, hints of spice, and a touch of gaminess. A bit too tannic on the palate and finishes short, but for the level and price pretty good.

I was surprise by the nose. It smelled like a raspberry field in a glass. The taste was well rounded and had a lot of fruit The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like raspberry. It tastes like raspberry and blackberry. The body is medium. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Delicious Burgundy value, enjoyable now, but will evolve nicely over the next 4-5 years. Great wine to drink now while you wait for your crus to awake from their slumber

This bottle was markedly different from the one in my previous tasting note. Here, some bing cherry and plum, with good minerality in the finish. Tannins are finely grained, especially for a villages-level Burgundy. Not getting any oak now, certainly not the fake-barrique-on-cheap-supermarket-wine-notes of the last one. I'm not sure why the other bottle was so out of kilter, so tough to know whether this was a rare event or reflective of substantial bottle variation for this wine.

Initially, what you look for in a Villages-level Burgundy. Some supple black fruit, tannins are soft, overall balanced. But the barrique is out of whack--too assertive and giving the whole affair an ersatz quality.

Tuesday Night Double Blind <$30 (Bin 75): Deep rose ruby with lighter rim, good clarity; dense rose and cherry, some sweet cherry, rhubarb, spice, stem, bubble gum; richer mouthfeel, sour cherry, spicy, cinnamon gum, more masculine on palate than nose; good.

As close to decent bargain Burgundy as I've had. Limpid garnet color, fairly simple yet elegant nose of tart cherries, balanced on palate, no tannins. Went well with French picnic fare.

In a good place in terms of its development. Some mature aromas but still fresh and vibrant on the palate. Drink or hold.
