PnP, then drunk over two evenings (the second 48h later). Medium intensity yellow, with green hues, clear. Quite a complex nose, with lovely fruit, herbs, hints of petrol. The palate is surprisingly sweet for a Kabinett and the vintage, but drinks well and has a nice mineral core. It seems to be on a path to an interesting development, but I believe that more acidity would have helped.

Screwcap, p&p on a hot evening in London, with salted nuts & crisps. Wow - what a beautiful wine. Fresh, slightly floral nose, no gasoline. Pure and elegant in the mouth, light acidic freshness & wonderful peach fruit. Light weight, as expected and hoped for in a kabinett. This is all about its purity, no bitterness, no excessive sweetness, just an angel crying on your tongue. Wonderful.

Under Stelvin. Donnhoff always has a briney, saline quality and a strong citrus signature for me, and unfortunately this bottle showed that a little too much of those traits to give a disjointed feel to the wine, with the sweetness sticking out in particular.

Extremely light and delicate, with grassy, honeyed aromas, not a huge amount of RS and an overall sense of harmonious drinkability. Lots of stone fruit to go with the grassiness that follows through onto the palate. Bottle disappeared oh-so-quickly.

Pnp. Has a light lemon skin in colour; sweet stone mineral fruits with some apricots and peaches on the nose. On the palate, there are some mineral notes that surround the apricots, limes, lemons, and some hints of salinity. Medium bodied with a medium+ finish. Last tasted February 2015. Great stuff with a sweet price tag.

This wine is so light and balanced it practically floats! Lovely. Worked great with Chinese food, and then great with Gnocchi and mushrooms in truffle oil.
This bottle seems sweeter than previous bottles. 2/4 in term of sweetness. Beside citrus also developed hint of petrol at finish. Mainly flowers on the nose. Satisfying drink as usual.

All flowers and limes on the nose. Good mouthful, big for a Kabinett. Finished off with strong citrus notes and hints of peaches. Wide open and enjoyable now. Somehow I craved for a Curry Fishhead to go with this. Bought a couple of cases for a steal at £130 per 12.

Drank this at the end of the evening with some traditional Indian desserts. Not typically a wine I would reach for at this point, but it was all that I had in my wine bag. It actually worked quite well. Light golden in color. The nose has wet rocks, slight pineapple and a bit of simple syrup. On the palate, this is drinking very young. Clean and complete though. Minerals, pineapple, slight grapefruit. Good acidity. Long finish. Screw capped. At $23, this is a great value. Has years left of course.

Well after having to wait 'til the second day on the 2012. This gorgeous baby exploded from the bottle right after pop and pour. This wine was maxed out with perceptions of waxy tangerine peel, orange blossom tea, fine slate rubbed with dried clay, slightly of savory herbs, slate-mineral-rocks-soil, hints of cherry skin, and other stone fruits... the list could go on forever. My gosh, the swallow and mouthfeel... generous, full, inviting, while always holding itself poised and graceful. If this isn't perfect, I don't know what is.

This is huge-awesome-like no other Kabinett I've had. This is also a ridiculously good QPR. I can't seem to find it other than in screwcap and JG thinks it will develop much better under cork, but still this will be fascinating to follow over 5, 10, and 20 years. This is a tremendous wine. 2013 seems to be a "kabinett year"-I don't know why but they seem to have a pungent, aromatic complexity, and a power that I haven't seen since I became addicted to German Rieslings in 2001. This is the best I've tried so far this year.

The wine opened with lots of tropical fruits, lemons and some minerality. The first thing that you will notice is the perfect harmony and balance between the acidity and sweetness. The mid palate was filled with juicy ripe tropical fruits and the finish moderately long with a nice tangy citrus note. The wine at this stage is still currently very young and hasn't got time to really develop. Give it another 5 - 7 years in the cellar. In conclusion, it's a very well made wine with lots of potential down the road.

Pale lemon color. Tropical and fresh on the nose, with ripe exotic fruit aromas of mango, melon, papaya, and pineapple. But there's also lemony citrus and a savory saline element as well. So inviting. On the palate, such a textbook example of the magical balance between acid and sugar in good Mosel riesling. At first it seems quite sweet, bursting with all the ripe tropical fruit from the nose, but then on the finish it screams off the tongue with lemony acidity, leaving behind a fresh, invigorating citrus tang that barely seems sweet at all. It's quite an intense wine with everything coming at quite high volume, so it does seem more like a Spatlese in terms of concentration if not sugar.
I can tell I'm drinking this way too young as it's still very primary and monolithic. But I can also tell that's it excellent wine and I'd love to have a bottle in a decade's time.
Riper and more residual sugar than I expected. Zingy and delicious. Drinks more like some of the donhoff spatlese wines, with wet stone and great citrus fruit salad.

Wine for Passover 2015; 4/4/2015-4/5/2015 (Our home): Very nice match for a beet & goat cheese salad. Light golden in color. The nose has nice pineapples with wet rocks. This bottle seemed to have a bit of spritz on it which I had not noticed in prior bottles. Odd. Screw capped. On the palate, there is a bit more than a hint of sweetness but not overt. Nice fruit. Good texture. Great value.

Chicago ♥ Dönnhoff (Chicago, IL): #05-14, 9.5% abv. Screw cap. This Kabinett also possesses incredible verve and tension on the palate, with just the right amount of sweetness to prevent the acidity from getting screechy. Perhaps a bit more mineral and herbal than the Kroetenpfuhl, but really, that's splitting hairs. This bottle also does come off slightly hotter as well. Impeccable balance and freshness make this a good one to drink by the case.

Gimme one good riesling extravaganza (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): Medium minus intensity aromas of sweet spice, stone fruit and sweaty armpits. In the mouth the wine has some spritz and is off dry with zesty acidity. Flavours of green and ripe apple…Hmm, the wine finishes a little cloying. It's out of whack at the moment, though the finish is long - it shows promise but needs time.

Lovely nose of peach, lime, matchstick and wet slate. Light and lithe on the palate with prominent sweetness and a strong lick of acidity working in perfect unison. There's a nice herb-tinged richness to the mid-palate and a long, citrus-driven finish. Stellar QPR.

I've never been blown away by the OL before, but this was delicious! Nose was cool and refined, textbook Kabinett. The palate was balanced with lots of lush fruit and great acidity. Ann said, "Kabinett makes things all right" and I'd have to agree. This was very impressive.

This was a fine wine, delicious, hedonistic and unctuous, yet not without a serious feel and one felt the backbone and the balance. One senses that this could lay down for quite a while, but for the twist off which may be the only negative - at least it won't be corked.

Really loving this wine and can't think of many more wines that deliver as much for the price, interesting nose with a citrus/tropical fruit mix, hints of dark stone, almost a hint of thyme? Palate is quite generous with a harmonious acidity/fruit/ripeness feel to it

Aromas of lemon/lime, nectarine, slate and herbs. The palate has the nectarine up front, then the citrus, then the herbal/mineral notes then a fairly lengthy citrus[driven finish. Medium acidity and just a hint of residual sugar. I drank this bottle over three days and it showed its best as I finished up this note. Let this age, its best is yet to come. Fantastic qpr.

Over dinner with friends. Next to a 2005 Fritz Haag Kabinett this one suffered in the comparison, due to the greater complexity of the other. But it had a fuller mid-palate and might actually age longer. Anyway it's very fine too.

My first 2013:This has an instant whiff of black earthy licorice. It has the appearance and perceptions of cistern water. Add silica hints here. There are smells and tastes of deep rich Riesling fruit, tart juicy citrus, mineral, slate and even a hint of "black chalky slate?". Awesome. And it's under a screw cap.

Fresh, bright and well received. These are juicy, delicious and balanced. Do we need a grape besides Riesling?

Rempli bien son office pour un apéritif.
Robe : très pale, brillante, à l'ouverture quelques bulles s'échappent
En bouche : léger perlant, c'est minéral. Le vin est bien équilibré entre l'acidité et le sucre.
Très bien

Pop and poured; color was light hay. The nose has a sweet mineral profile of bright citrus fruits and crisp red gala apples. Palate's getting some stony minerally sweet acidic apricots. Jennifer loved this wine.

Riesling Down Under - Cellarhand Tasting @ PWS: Appealing aromatics with musky florals, lemon and mandarin. Approachable on the palate, there is a good acid core with a lick of fruit richness. Lovely.

Light straw color. Good aromatics of stone fruit, apples, citrus. Juicy sweet fruit flavors with some nice acidic cut (although I wouldn't have minded even more), leading to a very long, satisfying finish.
