Still drinking well IMO. Nice nose. Surprisingly dark garnet color. But cool year flavor profile combies with light extraction to yield a very nuanced wine. I found no bitterness in the finish. I think this will drink well for years.

Needed air, frankly. On the opening was a little thin and acidic, but air/time added some red cherry fruit which brought nice balance after about an hour.

Lovely nose with very red fruited tones of strawberries, pomegranate, sour cherries, and blood orange. Nice acidity with tart red fruit, berries, orange zest, and a sight bitterness towards the back of the palate. Nice finish. Quite unique expression of Pinot in CA and I think it works pretty well.

Moderate color. Lovely nose. Ripe, warm weather fruit profile. Big! But picked on the early side while it still had acidity. Still young. Hold next bottle for a year or two.

Pomegranate, sour cherries, smoke, white pepper, and red berries on the nose. Great acidity with red berries, more cherries, and thyme on the palate. Long finish. Doesn’t really taste like a classic Pinot, but very good nonetheless. Still quite young, this probably needs 5+ years. 94+

Oh, wow! A bit sleepy when first opened but air woke it up. Relatively pale. Lovely, complex nose. At first smooth on palate, quickly turning spicy and then body and acids emerge and undulate in waves in a long finish. This gives the impression it is going to get even better.

12.5% abv. Medium Burgundy, very nice aromatics. Cherry and pomegranate with savory saline minerality. Energetic, with good depth and length. Enjoyable now, but will benefit from several more years of ageing.

Complex nose of smoke, brambles, dark plums, tangerine, quince, mace, lavender. On the palate a very pure sweet core of fruit with great focus, clear acid basis with a light tannic grip, warm aromatic after note. A lovely and typical example of Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir. 50 + 18 + 18 + 9 = 95.

Similar to note from a year ago, but this has rounded out a bit. Think it's just starting to hit its stride (last bottle but you live and you learn!)
Still distinctly on the lean side relative to other (still light-to-medium) pinots i enjoy... but wouldn't call this green at all at this point. That note has faded to a bit of graphite, while the palate has rounded out horizontally (not sure if that makes sense to others, but it does to me). Round, light cherry fruit, a touch of watermelon, with a touch of red pepper.

A light Pinot that never quite delivers the complexity it is reaching for - and ends up seeming a bit tart and watery. Light burgundy in color with clearness on the edge, light in body, nose of pomegranate and straw. Tastes of cranberry, thyme, and rosemary, with a pleasant and soft finish. 12.5% alcohol. I know that AG found complexity and grace here, but I just found a whole lot of nothing. For the money, I'd go with a Rhys or Littorai any day - just as light, but with a lot more taste.

Really enjoyed this. Decanted 4 hours and in the 5th it started to show more. Perfume includes orange oil/candied peel, dried herbs and a beautiful, shy lavender note. This is a light Pinot but with plenty of character. Did get some green notes, but as a whole package this worked for me, and worked well

This one is wild! Very young! Moderate to light red color. Minimal legs. Lots of funky aromas on initial opening which quickly faded. Bottle was opened about an hour before serving and not decanted. Aroma and flavor profiles evolved dramatically over four hours. Tantalizing, somewhat ethereal nose of red cherry and tangy nuances with earthy/barnyardy overtones. (The latter faded but was always barely there.) Big monolithic flavor of red cherry with lots of acidity. This got better and better for about three hours and then finally started to fade a bit. Very interesting wine. Open next bottle in about 18 months. This has lots of room to improve and was really lovely (and arguably deserving a higher score) at three hours after opening.

Inspires some confidence that this could be good - wine is light on this feet with nice glycerin extract - not an over extracted, over ripe California port-bomb
Nice berry flavors and the whole clusters add some interest
Overall, though simple "clean" wine with a weak and short finish which is on the whole a less interesting, almost soulless, version of Burgundy

Wow…first put my nose in the glass, and a young DRC popped into my head! Exotic dusty cherry liqueur Vosne Spice, fresh florals nose! Not so DRC on the palate though….lighter and definitely more acidic. Crunchy bright berry fruit, wonderful florals, soft herbs, potpourri spice, dried cranberry. Nice fresh acid streak…as well as some stem tannin and funk. Does have good energy, pretty, and balanced. Very tasty and should gain with a few….nose rocks it!

Nose - herbal, strawberry Mouth - stemmy and complex, full of lighter red fruits with very prominent acidity. Hints of cola that E readily picked up on. Black pepper on the dry finish. Nicely done.

The bottle arrived today and there was a tiny hairline crack in the bottle such that there was the smallest leak. Single drops of wine. The winery was kind enough to send a replacement, leaving me no choice but to open the leaking bottle before it emptied, small drip by drip, onto the cellar floor. Pop and pour and served without food crisp bright tart red fruits, cranberries and fresh basil. the whole cluster is evident. Wonderfully bright and inviting. Enjoyable.

Solid PN. paired with some grilled salmon which was needed as I didn’t like it as much drinking on its own.

2013 Red Burgundy Tasting (Chez John Morris): Volatile, cidery, funky. Slightly candied fruit, but with an odd, rot-like bitter character. Geosmin? This is not good. My #8.
