High-toned yellow-gold under poor lighting. Orange blossom honey with a bit of sugared bananas underneath on the nose. A touch of effervescence up front. A bit disjointed and 'off'. White grapes that have been neglected to the point of just beginning on-vine fermentation. Caveat: tried on a flight from Atlanta to Düsseldorf.

Dr.Loosen and Villa Wolf: Same light, clear colour. Quite closed, unremarkable nose. High accidity, pickle juice on backpalate, even some vinegar. Some white unripe berries, but with a sweet and sour element. With air a roasty smell develops. (B-)

Bone dry, tooth enamel cracking acid, concentrated, tangy. Probably best with food. Highly enjoyable.

A private lunch (Restaurant Central Park, Voorburg, NL): Crisp, primary, delicious juicy fruit, hint of spice, flowers, minerals, clean as a whistle, energetic, good length. Delicious young Riesling.
