  • Sour and astringent. Poured it down the sink.

  • Maybe the best Loire Valley pinot I've ever had. There was a beautiful core of red fruit, raspberry, cranberry, cherry, all delicately extracted. The turned earth provided a great backbone and was different enough you knew this wasn't burgundy but it also wasn't something new world.

  • Water, diluted cranberry, cedar, and earth. Like drinking a melted red gummy bear that got dropped in a muddy puddle. For my domestic palate, this wine was a rough go for me personally. Others enjoyed it. Just know it is a very delicate and light bodied wine.

  • About a year since my last bottle. Plenty of fruit in the nose. Cherries and raspberries. Diving in there is nice tannin and balanced acidity. Slightly tart fruit and a little minerality. Doesn't appear to have developed much in the last year so will likely give it longer till I try again.

  • Elegant, fresh, slightly simple but well made, balanced and good mid week wine!

  • Cherry and raspberry fruits, slightly tart but with a smooth finish. This a nicely balanced wine that goes well with red meats and cheese.

  • Very pale and thin raspberry red color. Nuanced, dry and tangy nose with vibrant and slightly wild aromas of crunchy cranberries, sour cherries, some brambly raspberries, a perfumed note of chinotto orange zest and a touch of chocolate chips. The wine is light-bodied, bright and crunchy on the palate with ripe, sweet raspberries, juicy red fruits, some succulent red cherries, a little bit of stony minerality and a touch of tart lingonberry. The wine is high in acidity with light tannins. The finish is quite long, juicy and ripe yet pretty tart with dry-ish flavors of sweet-toned red berries, crunchy cranberries, some tart lingonberries, a little bit of wild, perfumed floral character and a touch of sour cherry bitterness.

A nice, fresh and crunchy but ultimately somewhat simple, little Pinot Noir. Definitely from the lighter end of the spectrum, this wine feels a bit underwhelming on its own, although the bright acidity lends the wine some welcome freshness and intensity. Feels like it could definitely use some food. Overall a fresh and nicely drinkable but also pretty forgettable effort.

  • Dinner at Verjus in Paris. Ok so I give it a bonus point because I've never had red Sancerre before. However, this pale red, tasting like tart, raspberry jolly rancher was disappointing until the duck arrived. And then, it was slightly less disappointing. Have to admit it went well with the duck but would never have guessed it before and not eager to try this style of wine again.
