bottle opened 2 hours ahead of drinking. cork broke in half and bottom fell in, so decanted. pours a translucent strawberry red, just barely cloudy. rip roaring tar note that blew away with vigorous swirling. some of this scent was apparent when breaking the wax, so i suspect my cork adventure contributed. underneath hints of dried rose, pine, and red fruit. palate unbelievably light and balanced with sweet strawberry and cherry fruits. a hint of syrup, more rose, and a bit of that asphalt bite at the back. whisper of fine tannin is still there. overall tremendous fruit presence for a wine of this age. elegant and a great pleasure to drink.

Gala Dinner at La Festa del Barolo 2020 (The Pool Restaurant, NYC): [Taste from a 2.1 liter Troglia bottling brought by Josh Leader.] Vibrant and lovely. Long juicy finish. Terrific.
