Part of a dinner with my wine group at an Indian restaurant. While not everyone ejoyed it, most did. It was my 2nd favorite wine of the night, and it tasted more Grenache like than a Zinfandel. Long finish, full bodied. It tasted just a touch "hot" from the alcohol, which costs it a point in my rating. Nice to see a 10 year old Zin still drinking well!

Crimson in color. 15.9% ABV. Awesome nose of red and black fruits, baking spices and cracked black pepper. Full bodied with mouth watering acidity. Remarkably well balanced. Loaded with lush, sweet fruits. Black cherry, blackberry, peach and pepper on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Tremendous Zinfandel that is aging so well. Best over the next 1-2 years.

This was my wine of the week. As chief cook and bottlewasher in this hosue I treat my self by coravining a glass of wine each night. This wine has red fruit on the nose. The palate was strawberry, cherry and spices leading to a moderate finish. It was enjoyable. I have had some Pesenti's from other vintages which I did not particulaly enjoy. This wine ws good.

Disconcerting level of wine penetration on the cork for a wine only 7yrs past vintage, an increasingly common problem I’ve noted in Turley bottlings both mailing list and from retail. (This bottle purchased via Turley mailing list and stored in cellar since).
Dark lush brambleberry fruit, cherry compote, hints of eucalyptus and sage. Freshly opened this still showed tightness which softened after two+ hours of air. Dense and rich but it carries its weight well. Compote of cherries and vanilla with smashed berries and a continued whisp of eucalyptus. Desperately tries to sweep itself through the finish with its considerable weight marginally overwhelming the acidity and leaving a feint sweetness along with its considerable rich fruit character.
Consistently one of Paso’s better Zinfandel bottlings but perhaps a tad on the overripe side this year. Nevertheless, this handles its considerable bounty with some charm.

Rich red and dark fruits supported by soft tannic structure. Is this a Zinfandel? Then boysenberries with peppery notes leap in. Altogether, satisfying with food loving acidity and great satisfying finish. Drinkable now and in the future.

Our first bottle of Presenti and it was a good one. Lots of fruit and that unusual "orange rind" expression I've read others describe. There is a lot going on in the glass when drinking this one. It provided a great evening sipper.

Lots of structure, improved as it loosened up over a couple nights. Big red fruit punch, no heat just a firm zin. Because of that, not the Pesenti dust and orange rind profile I was expecting. May come with another year or two in bottle to soften up. Red currant, sandalwood, red raspberry compote. Full favored and the acidity to do well with main meal and dark chocolate. Good now, likely better in a year or two.

Wow. Seriously impressive. Massive depth of fruit. Dark plum, smokey cherries, herbs, leather, and cassis. What is most remarkable is that with all that flavor, the wine is impeccably balanced. The acidity really highlights the flavors and masks the massive tannins. This wine is a trickster; it feels a touch light at first but the wine grows and expands to fill the back of the palate. Terrific wine.

Has taken on more of an Asian spice profile with time in the bottle, still kissed by blackberries, cherries, blueberries and an apricot finish. There’s a lot to like about this offering. Shows what you can do with a “nothing” vineyard (at least when Pesenti farmed it). Delicious. (= Outstanding)

PnP. Initial aroma was a bit musty. Off gassed within minutes. Replaced by beautiful dark fruitiness and spices. Palate of black and blue berries, warm spices and a bit of pepper, too. Great mouthfeel and finish.

Thick and musky on the nose, but not showing any of its 15.9% alcohol there. The palate has great depth and is exceedingly plush, with sweet, jammy summer berries and toasted spices, and a good bit of heat once it opens up. I liked this best with food, as that helped hide the alcoholic finish a bit. Dialed back a notch, this would be extraordinary. As it is, it's still an excellent representative of its style.

Only the Ueberroth bottling surpasses this in my Zin rankings. The 2013 is big and bold yet plush. Deep fruit flavors with a splash of spice dominate the palate and does an amazing job of hiding its 15.9% alc.

Very enjoyable. Best on day 3. Full throttle black fruit but with good acid that creates a nice balance and prevents the wine from becoming cloying or unctuous. Nice long white pepper finish.

(Tasted at the Turley Pickup Party) A perennial favorite among the Turley offerings. This still seemed disjointed, but there's some underlying promise that this will be another outstanding vintage from this vineyard. Gobs of blackberries, blueberries, apricots and cherries, with a kiss of tar and smoke in the finish. Drink 2017-2020. (= Worth Seeking Out)

Nose of black fruits, esp. black raspberry. Medium to full bodied. Spice is prominent in typical Zinfandel fashion. Very fruit forward balanced by the spicey notes with a medium length in the finish. Tannins not playing a strong role here. Tasted 3 nights later, spice was more prominent with fruit taking a back seat, very muted. Finish was shorter and the wine felt thin. I feel this was opened right on time and wish I'd finished it that night or the next. Still a lovely wine, worth the price of entry and reflective of Turley quality.

Bought this at the Templeton tasting room last week and planned to keep it in the basement for the next 3-5 years. Checked it into CT tonight, and lo and behold, there's already one down there from a winebid purchase this winter. Change of plans.
Prototypical plum/raspberry/cocoa powder/cinnamon/thyme profile. Alcohol warmth, nose and palette. Medium body and finish. Enough acids to perform like a legit Italian with tonight's pasta sauce.
Classic Pesenti. Great, has a decade in it, and well worth the $40 retail, if maybe not the ~1.5x+ aftermarket cult price.

Have you had a Zinfandel like this before? I hadn't. Now I have. I happen to have three more and i couldn't be happier about it. My wife says it tastes expensive. I think she means it's elegant and subtle with a finish that just won't quit. It also has flavor of things and such.

The wine looks inky colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. Herbal nose, some cut grass and hints of leather there as well. Red fruits and herbal tones continue on the mouth. A little thinner mouthful than I expected with a little mint on the finish.

Massive black cherry, cassis, blackberry nose with big time spice and black pepper notes. Very rich, round almost creamy mouthfeel with big flavored of ripe dark and bright berry. Alcohol occasionally shows but it is not hot. The finish is 90 seconds long and almost rolls around in a thick haze of fruit and spice. You cannot ask for much better in a Zin. It is a tribute to a great vineyard and great winemaker that lets the fruit shine. WOW!

Although I'm usually a pop and drink proponent of Turley wines, I've got to agree with Sundiego on this one. Definitely needs to breathe, even if you use an aerator. But I got to disagree with Sun's recommendation to let it breathe 6 hours plus. Give it 40-50 minutes through an aerator into a decanter, and let it pour. It is then definitely noteworthy. Much spice and tame fruit (especially dark black cherry) flavors, with long traces and aftertastes of kirsch, mineral, and limestone most likely derived from its upbringing. Again, as I have commented before, this Pesenti is nothing reminiscent of its progenitor before I think it was 1997 or 1998 when Larry bought them out (actually I used to right off my head remember when they year was but that was probably 500 to 600 bottles of Turley ago, lol), but definitely an impressive and memorable cuvee in its own right. Nice and smooth and presented itself went well with a rib eye dinner.

PnP. Initial aroma was a bit musty. Off gassed within minutes. Replaced by beautiful dark fruitiness and spices. Palate of black and blue berries, warm spices and a bit of pepper, too. Great mouthfeel and finish.

Great fruit flavors but VA on the nose and palate and high acid making an astringent finish.

Sticking with my 93 on this one.
Remains awesome.
There are extensive reviews detailing the flavor profile from others.
My last bottle gonna hang out for at least 1 more year.
Wine connoisseurs and amateurs alike will love this.

Very enjoyable. Best on day 3. Full throttle black fruit but with good acid that creates a nice balance and prevents the wine from becoming cloying or unctuous. Nice long white pepper finish.

Tasted at the tasting room in Paso Robles, amazing richness and concentration, yet smooth and lush, dark cherry, raspberry, plum, cloves and wild berries. Approachable now or hold for five or so years. Bravo!

Pop and pour...dark purple with a lively nose...dark/candied cherry and blackberry jam...the mouthfeel of this wine is incredible...full and thick like 5W20...the finish was smooth and a good 20 seconds...a nice big Zin. This is my first venture into the 2013 Turleys...can't wait for more.

Have you had a Zinfandel like this before? I hadn't. Now I have. I happen to have three more and i couldn't be happier about it.
My wife says it tastes expensive.
I think she means it's elegant and subtle with a finish that just won't quit.
It also has flavor of things and such.

15.9% abv. Medium dark ruby with expressive aromas. A very pretty, very pure palate impression - intense red raspberry and spice. Deep, with a lingering aftertaste. I'm a longstanding fan of Pesenti Zin, and this is an excellent one!

The wine looks inky colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. Herbal nose, some cut grass and hints of leather there as well. Red fruits and herbal tones continue on the mouth. A little thinner mouthful than I expected with a little mint on the finish.

Short 30 minute decant. Wonderful. Fairly dark. Loads of fruit with a slightly zippy finish showing hints of spice and pepper. Lovely combination of big, smooth, and balanced. A bit young for sure but drinking well now and plenty of fun. Scoring in the 93-94 range.

Should have waited, because while it was delightful with only 6 hours of decanting, it would definately benefit from extended aging.
