Dinner 13th Jan 2024 (Catford): Dark red/brown. Aroma of oak, blackberry, varnish, smoke. More flowery aromas as the wine opened-up. Full, rich cherry and chocolate flavours. Elegant blackberry fruit. Each sip revealed more complexity. Decanted for an hour - might have been better for two hours. Superb.

Medium red, clear pink edges. Really nice Barolo nose, tar, earth, black cherry and tea. Delicious resolved black cherry flavours with a bit of soft tannins on the finish.
Much better then expected. Held it's own with a 1990 Parusso Mariondino and a 1995 Paitin.

This wine was a nice light red. There was a lot here to like but at times it seemed a bit thin. At other times it seemed very much like a well age Barolo. A mystery but very enjoyable.

Enjoyed last night with Kim at Babbo's in NYC with course of pappardelle and chanterelles. Medium to full bodied, very dark, spicy, still tannic, years to go at this point and needs a long decant if drunk now. Nose aromatic, spicy with black pepper and underlying dark berry. Primary flavors consisted of earthy tones including granite, tar, mushroom and dark berries with initial black pepper superimposed on top, this wore off as the wine opened in the glass. Definitely recommend this but this wine still needs a lot of time or air if drunk now.

Luscious, ripe, fruit driven Barolo. Intensely perfumed with aromas of anise and tar, but beautifully balanced with deep ripe cranberry flavors and solid structure. A beefy style Barolo, at least at this relatively early juncture, with a long and promising future . Not for the shy, but neither do you need to don a helmet and shield to thoroughly enjoy it.

Nice enough, but Ohio pricing puts it above the value level. Good acidic structure, nice furry funk on the nose. Solid, balanced. Very enjoyable with grass-fed steak. Enjoyment aside, it never goes above the level of basic Barolo.

Just a nice wine.blown away by the Cocito. It lacks the stuffing in the middle that the Cocito had masses of. You could say that this is not a competition wine, but when drunk on its own, it will provide enough pleasure. Needs some time to come around.

Medium red with some bricking. At first rather stiff tannins but openen up beautifully. Classic (modern) Barolo. Nothing overdone, wood proviing only a background note to the typical black cherry, rose and tar aaromas of the wine. Stunning length on the palate. Of course much too young but can be enjoyed now with serious decanting. A real winner for a bargain price of below 20 EUR!

Well aged Barolo. Mouthfeel smooth and full. Layered dark flavor and tea. Two more left no hurry.

Similar to the last time I had it, after some hours even more satisfying than right after opening. Great QPR! The group loved it as well.
