Tied for 4th (out of 9) among a tight local tasting of "Chardonnays of the World". Came up just behind a 2014 Leeuwin Estate Art Series, a 2017 Lingua Franca Sisters Vineyard, and (barely) a 2018 Goodfellow Whistling Ridge Richard's Cuvee. Leftovers (cork shoved in a bottle) held up very well, drinking surprisingly well two days later with little drop-off in the fruit.

Scott notes that Pernot has some sort of nectar of the gods going. And indeed, it does. Just singing on the palate with its harmony. So darn good. And just now coming into form.

So funny - if I wouldn't have just had the Bourgogne blanc from 2013 I would have thought this was amazing. But since i DID just have that... this just doesn't have the star power of the Bourgogne yet. So I guess keep holding and drinking your cheaper stash!

Still with crystal clarity on the nose and palate. And still very youthful. Just peaking out. I'd say you can still hold. And then on that second pour it just shows that X factor of Grand Crus. Darn is this great.

Well...pounding out my last bottle of this as I didn’t have much hope for it...dagnammit...all it needed was a second day, at cellar temp...it has gained TREMENDOUSLY!! The riper pitted orchard fruit has been chalked up nicely with salty and dusty pulverized rocky minerals...fresh squeeze of lemon and quince energize...totally LOVE the nuanced mint and lemongrass florals...finishes dry and spicy. What a turnaround!!! 93pts now. If you have this...open and wait til next day...serve at cellar temp.

Friendsgiving Dinner (Riverwoods, IL): An intense richness for Villages while also much riper than I would thought for 2014. Both charming and powerful.

Frankly, drank with that "X" factor that I associate with Grand Crus. That magical something that is undefinable yet makes them Grand. Didn't have as much of it as his BBM but it was still there. For the price I paid this is rather amazing stuff.

Shimmering yellow, green tinge color...nose of white peach, lemon curd, canned pears, chalk dust. In the mouth showing riper candied fruit, and less 14 cut than I thought it would. The right temp is very key...too warm its ripe, too cold shows lean with a little edgy heat as well...does have a nice saline crushed minerality and subtle nuances of lemongrass, mint leaves, white honey butter. Just ok...satisfying if it were a Bourgogne...but as a Puligny village it's somewhat of a disappointment. Side note...LOVE the classic and classy labels on their wines!

Ripe, waxy yellow fruits. The palate shows less flash, and a more acid-driven citrus profile. It's almost a little too tart at this stage, and some time might help it settle down and gain body. Either way, it's a solid wine for the level.

Purchased from Garagiste. Nice wine, missing a little something for a higher score, and expensive for what it is. But a tasty Chard in a non- California kind of way.

Drank in apr.16, first bottle from case of 6. to retry in 6 months - 1 year. First impressions, medium -deep lemon color, slight minerality, nuts, almonds and pears, exotic fruits and flowers. Medium plus acidity a bit overwhelmed by medium plus body, rich, buttery exotic fruita flavors, developping with medium plus finish. Will improve in time. Nice,
Tried again apr.17, more restrained on palate with less fruit, firmer acidity, beautiful mineral chalky, smokey nose. Better
Sep.18 not much different, more butter, the body developed an interesting roundness, the end palate more intense and longer finish. I don‘t think this will get any better though
Dec.18 round butter, heat and flowers, i feel the fruit is still there. Too present for me...

Not quite open for business yet... its all there, just kinda packed in. Maybe try another bottle this year but then otherwise wait. And the '13 Bourgogne is drinking so darn good right now.

Still drinking quite well. Love the vintage. Light straw color. Lemon and mineral. Some honeysuckle fruit. Superb balance with very pleasant finish.

A lovely pre-dinner wine. A bit light but some great pear notes on the end. No point in cellaring further I think. Well made.
