  • colour is moderately intense and gives no clear signs of ageing. Nose is relatively expressive (8 hours of opening)and rather dark fruit, graphite and pepper.
Currently still a very powerful wine, with a finish a long finish. Tannins are marked with the hotter vintage and finish a little dry for now. Still a lot of life in this Bussia Riserva.

  • An interesting wine. Opened 2pm and had at 7pm. Decent weight, body and deep in colour with some brick tinge age showing. Aromatically this was quite restrained with plum and rose notes. on the palate, plum, slightly earthy, sage and smooth, pronounced tannin. second half of the bottle was consumed on the second night with some further softening of tannins and rounding of the plum character.

  • Much better than in 2016. Flowers, cherries, wood, rasberries. Complex nose and in the mouth, not so long exit. Good value.

  • A bit disappointed in this. Pretty closed, needs more time

  • Purchased at Vinmonopolet and my label was quite different than the one on CT, so I'm not positive this was Giacomo vs another Fenocchio.
Shows the vintage - this is loaded with ripe strawberry fruit and a touch of fig, a bit of balsamico. Big, rich wine. Clear varietal character though.
On day 2 it's pretty luscious and tasty. Soft, rich, tasty with ripe strawberry, J&J baby aspirin and red jello notes. This will never be a vintage that I love, but there are some tasty wines.

  • Farge : Fortsatt ganske kraftig
Duft: Virker noe lukket, etter hvert noe lakris
Smak: Kraftige men begynnende runde tanniner. Krekling

  • Dark garnet/amber hues; rich and savory nose with dried cherry, pit, plum, and lots of balsamic notes; rich and full on the palate, fairly dense. This is a true Riserva, from the best grapes and lots of Bussia. It's about twice the density of the Bussia Normale (2011), which was also stunning, with the same flavor profile, but much more food friendly with a lovely aromatic nose (92). Also had it with the Villero 2011--lovely, elegant, with a distinct mineral streak. Castellero 2011 was a bit light, too elegant, non-descript nose of cherry skin, light rose and a hint of asphalt. Portofino with Claudio Fenocchio. Other wines were the Barbera d'Alba and Freisa which was slightly spicy, medium light and juicy blackberry (great with the lightly spicy meatballs). Very traditional, native yeasts used, most wines aged only in large Slovenian botte and old large French and other barrels.

  • Caught this one after 17 h of opening. Roses, violets and tar notes in an otherwise warm nose. Warmth also on the palate but in a nice way. Juicy. Tannins mute though clearly present in a long and structured finish.
