Medium body. Slight bricking. Fragrant nose of rose petals, orange zest and balsamic. Pronounced tannins and acidity, yet silky and elegant. Dark fruit, fig, orange marmalade, leather palette. Still young. Has 10+ years ahead.

Tasting at Alessandro and Gian Natale Fantino (Monforte d'Alba, Piedmont, Italy): Ruby red. Wow, amazingly floral nose and aromatic nose. Floral aromas are followed by waves of red cherry, earth and herbs. Palate delivers good juicy acidity on entry with a rustic flavor profile - earth and iron. Precise and impeccably balanced. 93-95

2011 Barolo Tasting at La Festa del Barolo (Four Seasons Restaurant, NYC): Wildly perfumed nose of bright cherries. Rich and complex with a very long tannic finish. Exotic. The surprise of the tasting.
