This time around nice blackberry and spice notes. Tannins still there so could use some time but there is the razors edge of the fruit falling off and the tannins taking over. In a nice place nowl.

Would never have picked this as a Fourrier. Reticent, brooding, malty - not unlike the early 90s Pousse d'Ors. It plumped up in the glass. Grander than a villages. Promising.

Morel Dinner with Big Red & White Burgs and Champagne (L'Etoille du Nord, Bayport, MN): Dark red color. PNP, drank 1 glass over 2+ hours. The nose offers plenty of red fruits of raspberry and strawberry, sweet tart. the palate is red sweet tarts, spice, tangy, good tannic structure, ripe and tart, red fruits. A bit lost in the shuffle, this is a delightful wine.

Pure, sappy, red fruited, lovely sweet middle, round and persistent, quite delightful. Late 90s Fourriers often taste older than their years, but not this which retains a youthful prettiness

Plush, meaty, savoury, an earthy tone (verging on musty), but the fruit's so ripe, it doesn't matter. High acid. Seems oaky, like a rioja. In the glass it broadens out, the fruit becomes softer and redder.

Not much nose to start with, and what there was had a touch of mustiness, but the palate was bright and red fruited, high acid. In the glass the musty tone diminished then disappeared, the fruit got brighter and brighter, the sap rose, ended up glorious

Tangy, red fruited, mature Gevrey, a citrus twist adding freshness, sappy, fresh exciting, but not as harmonious as, say, the 01 Solon - nevertheless, a lovely wine

Very simple on the nose. Red cherry and a tinge of horsehair. Medium intensity on the nose and I think a bit closed. Not much else. On taste very bright and acidic which lifted the fruit to make it somewhat intense. The flavor of the red cherries was nice with an acceptable finish. In the end this is a bit of an unbalanced and simple wine that is good for its flavor. The nose does not have much to offer and in sum it is simple rather than complex. Not what I would want from an aged Burgundy. It seems overly acidic and bright which makes me wonder about the 05s and whether I should drink them up rather than wait.

Just an absolutely awesome showing for this wine last night. Really stellar. None of the brett that was present in the other bottle. Pure and delicate and wonderful. Wish I had a lot more!

Seemed light at first. Tons of Pinot Funk barnyard combination. But under the funk was some really nice juice, some good fruit, fleshed out a bit, easily held up over the three hours plus that it was open. Have a glass left for tonight, but I suspect this has a few good years left, though perhaps no reason to wait.

Deep red color. The aromatics are all about deep cherry fruit wrapped in a mix of turned earth, warm herbs and sweet smoke. The flavors are actually more generous, and show lots of rich, primary fruit along with more of the warm herb & smoke elements. The finish is long, fruity and getting soft. The overall balance is excellent, and the wine could easily age another 5+ years before really coming into its prime. It is delicious now though, so I'm not at all sorry I opened it.

Gorgeous, soft, resolved Gevrey. Red fruit, high acid, but balanced by the soft texture.

Brown, mellow, sappy, a sweet core; lovely resolved Gevrey, though age seems to make these Fourriers less distinctive.

Not quite as good as it was three weeks ago. Good mature Gevrey, but it lacked the sweet twinkle in the middle that the previous bottle had.

Beautifully scented, elegant middle weight. Well balanced with integrated tannins. Marginally short fruit on mid palate and finish
