An amazing $12 bottle that has been consistently good year after year. Don't let it sit though, it doesn't keep well after being opened. Some cherry, grass and a touch of plum. Good everyday wine.

Amazing budget table wine! Raspberry jam notes on the nose develop into a bouquet of sweet red fruit that disappears as soon as the wine leaves your mouth. The sugar is supported with a medium acidity that lets the wine stand up to just about any food you throw at it.. a perfect introduction to Beaujolais and certainly not my last bottle. For $8, I can see myself stocking a few bottles of this for some easy-drinking table wine. This was best after being decanted for an hour at cellar temp.

Red/purple color. Initially the nose was restrained but showed it cherry and earth profile. The palate was somewhat constricted on day 1 and slightly medicinal. Medium acidity and tannin, medium body. We let it rest for the rest of the day.
Day 2 this was a different wine. Much more aromatic. Nice red cherry and earth w/ dark chocolate. This woke up big time and I enjoyed it much more. For the money (Burgundy etc...), this is a pretty good to excellent value.

Seriously disappointed. Drank this on Thanksgiving day and tried it with dinner. It didnt work well at all. Thin, really not much to think about, unidimensional. I've had much better luck with villages in the past. I think Im headed to pretty much drinking the cru beaujolais exclusively.

Bright red purple in the glass. Shy nose (initially) of red berries. Medium light body with lowish acidity and medium minus tannins that assert themselves with air. Medium finish ends on the dark side, especially after food. Serve slightly below cellar temperature and it’ll give its best. Great introduction to the more “serious” side of Beaujolais.

Tasted after several hours of air. Pronounced nose of candied cherry with a bit of a herbal note. Cherry and herbs on the palate, but again with some sweet candied sensation. Fairly light, bit of minerals, a bitterness through the finish.

Appearance: Clear. Deep ruby core moving to an incredibly narrow watery meniscus. Tears are present.
Nose: Clean, developing nose with a medium(+) intensity. Well-defined aroma of boysenberry and chocolate. Subtle background aromas of red cherry and medicinal notes (almost liquorice) are released with swirling. Chocolate indicates the use of oak. No tertiary aromas were detected.
Palate: The wine is dry with medium acidity, medium(-) body, and medium alcohol. The tannins are of medium(-) level, are soft in nature, and capture some of the warmth from the alcohol. The flavours have a medium(+) intensity and follow the nose with notes of chocolate and sour red cherry; sweet boysenberry flavours combine with the subtle medicinal notes to develop into an almost cough syrup like flavour on the finish. The finish has a medium(+) length. Chocolate flavours provides evidence that oak was used.
Conclusion: This is a very good quality wine. The fruit is well-balanced with the acidity and the alcohol. The well-balanced oak treatment also allows the fruit to fully express itself. The tannins are soft and pleasant, capturing the warmth from the alcohol in an enjoyable manner. The wine has a pleasant finish with a great concentration of flavour (the alcohol does not dominate the finish), and great length. The wine does not appear to be overly complex but is interesting enough and very drinkable.
This wine drinks well now, but has potential for ageing — best to consume within the next couple of years though.

As with other vintages of this, straightforward but serviceable Bojo that's widely available in supermarkets and such. Notes of cherries with a little earthiness and minerals and a touch of floral.

PnP & slow ox for an hour. Purple color and darker than most of my other fav producers. Popped in the fridge for 30 minutes to bring it down from room temp. Juicy, raspberry, spice, earth, tiny hint of gamay bitterness but only the tiniest hint of it. Well balanced, energetic and smooth. A little bigger with the ripe vintage. Turns somewhat less fruity and more savory later in the evening. A solid + week night red that pairs well almost any food. ALC 13%. 89-/ 88+

2015 Jadot Entry Level Beaujolais; 5/22/2017-6/1/2017: blueberry aromas, a little shy. some earthy raspberry, with a nice bitter note, pleasant tannins, ad a nice bitter fruit finish. Randomly, I've had the regular jadot bojo and the combe aux jacques this week, all within a dollar a bottle of each other. This is the least flawed and the most drinkable, less confectioned than the regular, and less disjointed and smoother than the jacques. the sweet spot of the jadot beaujolais, at least for now.

Deep burgundy color, great finish with strong cherry notes and hints of blueberry. Great right out of the bottle but we decanted it for about 45 minutes. Paired well with a Barramundi Beurre Blanc with parsnip, potato, and Swiss chard hash. Definitely repeatable, especially for the price.

Got more than I expected here. PnP & slow ox for an hour. Purple color and darker than some of my other fav producers like Thivin and Chanrion's wines. That said this was fantastic! So much so, I rechecked the label after opening it because I also had a higher end Jadot Gevrey Chambertin CSJ sitting very nearby by in my recently acquired wines staging area under the stairs and worried I may have mistakenly opened it :). First sips and smells were great but I popped it in the fridge for 30 minutes to get it down from near room temp. Well no, this is ain't no CSJ but, its darn good for only $9 and went great with chicken stir fry. Juicy, raspberry, spice, earth, tiny hint of gamay bitterness but only the tiniest hint of it. All in all extremely well balanced, energetic and smooth. Totally dug it and felt like a genius for finding an excellent $9 Beaujolais punching well above its price point. Jadot makes a ton of this so who knows what the next btl will be like but I'm grabbing at least a couple more soon. Great week night red that drinks great sipping before dinner and obviously, perfect with a lot of food. Worth the $9 splurge! The 2015 vintage may be "lifting all boats" here too. ALC 13%.

This was a variation on the Louis Jadot Beaujolais Villages known as Chapelle Aux Loups. A simple wine as might be expected, full of fresh and vibrant red fruits and very drinkable. Also good value for money.

Seems every time I get a chance to taste a Beaujolais-Villages I wonder why we don't drink them more often. This is a very complete wine for around $10. It is fruity, fresh and lively with a considerable finish and aftertaste of both red and dark fruit. Very dark purple color. The entry is blueberry and red raspberry that continues through the finish. Medium bodied. Just a hint of evergreen rusticity, and a bit of minerality. Some youngish, fresh acid keeps the fruit in check.

Not decanted, one glass consumed over ~30 minutes. I found this surprisingly good, albeit a bit youthfully unfocused. Dry, firm, and fairly mouth-watering, with cranberry/morello cherry fruit, hints of anise, cocoa powder, and a whiff of cinnamon roll on the nose. Quite decent for the price. I'd guess this will be best consumed over the next two years or so, but there's enough concentration that I could see myself being wrong about that.

Deep Ruby cherry red in colour at Dec 16 in Nevada USA. good Ripe cherry/raspberry Gamay like characters , carbonic macerated style . normal for style. On the palate upfront fruit , no mid palate sweetness , some tannin to loose with age. would have liked more mid palate , but for style an price ok.
