Jura study (Chicago, IL): I preferred the 2012 to this; the table was split on the issue. This doesn't have the same weight of fruit and breadth on the palate as the older wine, but it features more of an intense, racy minerally element to it. More structural and maybe just not quite as expressive and pleasurable to drink.

Really tight and finally opening up after 3h in the decanter. First it was subtle wood spices, lemon and apple. Then pineapple and touch of star fruit but never in an excessive way. Very textured but at the same time high acidity cutting through the richness. Reminded me of a very good St-Aubin. Tasted younger than it’s age.

This bottle was open for business, maybe the thirteens are coming into their own now. Typical Ganevat chardonnay with grillad lemon, red apple, a chalky minerality and a mouthwatering bitterness. Has that Jura spicy character that is hard to place as anything other than Jura character.

Enjoyed a lot. Slightly closed on the nose with mostly citrus fruit and champagne yeastiness, but there is also with a bit of time lots of spices and a bit of buttery creaminess. High acidity, rather round and generous body with plenty of fruit and a long, intense finish. Lots of potential and probabaly opened a bit too early.

A bit muted nose showing some toast, chalk dust and stale Champagne. With some air and rising temperature it unwinds a little bit. Green apple, unripe pear, fresh grass, lemon, lime, buttered nuts and the tiniest hint of murky wood/funk/wet wool.
Bone dry. Really high acidity and medium(-) body. Like biting into a really tart green apple drizzled with lemon juice. Unripe tropical fruit, toast and nuts also coming through. Great concentration with a long, lingering finish.
Here's some serious potential but today it's tough as nails.

Jura Focus Tasting: Mineral, chalk, pear, white florals and orange peel. Fruit takes a back seat on the palate, this is very driven and mineral. Not all that reminiscent of the Jura, but I really like the style of the wine anyway. Really nicely balanced.

More open than the previous bottle. Lack some balance on the mid palate. It's good but definitely on e of the best vintages for this cuvee.
