My wife and I used to guzzle this stuff when we were in college mumble mumble years ago, when our wallets were slimmer and tastes less refined. We wanted to see if it was any good years on. Had a couple of glasses and used the rest to braise short ribs. The short ribs were great, and the wine would have been if we were 22.

Never gave it enough time to open up. Or maybe there wasn't enough there to open up...a lot of volatiles on the nose and no depth to the fruit. More sharp and acidic than I like.

Drank one glass slowly over 30 minutes, which it needed to start showing its fruit. Medium ruby, clear w/legs. Nose is clean, with light intensity and notes of dark cherry, graphite. Dry with medium acidity, medium tannins and medium- body. Flavors are dominated by ash and wet wet stone, backed by jammy cherry and blackberry. Medium- length finishes with a hint of oak. Drink now, this is not likely to improve with time. Generally, I'd say its "acceptable". Today, I might even go with "good" though, but relative to the setting: It was the best bottle I could find at the CVS on the Las Vegas Strip. :)

I keep coming back to this (and Mondavi Woodbridge) for everyday Cabernet drinking. Tannins, mineral overtones, and medium body fruit all hint at the richer relatives in Bordeaux, teasing us for the next big open. At under $9 and ready to drink, Cadet is far superior to (and much more enjoyable than) low end Australians, Costco Kirkland Cabernet, etc.

Medium ruby in color. Aromas of dark and dark red fruits, smoke, tar, and graphite. Light to medium body, medium acid, medium (-) finish, and flavors of black cherry, plum, and a touch of oak spice. Pretty simple and certainly a drink now type wine. Not mad at it though for ~$10 on vacation in Cape Cod, sitting by the fire while the kids make s'mores (I may have had one too).

Weak, irrelevant, lacking any charisma nor charm - another example yet again of Rothschild using their name to Mammonise their name on low rent fluid fodder.

Mouton Cadet (London Wine fair): Intense ruby red, with purple rim Nice at nose, fine and medium complex: red fruits and vegetal notes. Alcohol. Intense, persistent and fine at palate, with a nice mix of spices (black pepper) and fruit. Young tannins. Merlot 84%

Better than expected. But not a premium wine.

Medium red with soft finish. Not too memorable but good everyday value Bordeau.

Medium red with a tinge of purple colour. The nose is faint but with calm dry red fruit. Soft with dry tannins. Not complex but a clean dry red.
