  • Oh, what a wine. Very rich, very complete, very complex showing plenty of ripe fruit, tobaccio, chocolate, some tannnin, but very ripe - harmonious wine. Grand vin.

  • Great wine! But I like more Opus 2015

  • This could hit 100 Pts when fully mature. And, why not? There is a gorgeous symmetry here, balancing intensity, concentration, length, purity, and elegance, along with a close to seamless finish that delivers layer after layer of opulent, flamboyant fruits that hold your focus for close to 60 seconds! Drink from 2025-2065.

  • 尝,来回几次。气味都很好,口中也不错,但是这么年轻很难说

  • That unmistakable cool sensation of Mouton floating across the top of the wine, this is something special and flirtatious. Cool nuances of peppercorn, green cabernet, and a soft gentle hand that blended this all come together and bring you a highly balanced wine with more aromatic allure than palatable appeal. Not that its not delicious, its just that the nose is a couple of points above the wine. Not the longest finish out there, but rather nice. I don't see this as ready for at least 10 years plus...HOLD_

  • ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
VDS 2-89. Chateau Mouton Rothschild 2015

회사지인분 부탁으로 준비해 본 Mouton Rothschild 2015.
보르도를 이렇게 테이스팅 하는게 얼마만인가 보니 3년이나 지났다.
    마지막 보르도가 20년 9월 마신 Margaux 83

결론은 Mouton is the Mouton 이였다.

  • Domaine visit. A really great showing. Absolutely wonderful mouth feel, tannins, fruit, acidity spot on. Elegant, not hot. Beautiful emerging aromas of cedar wood, red fruit, cloves. This will be grand. Best after 2030.

  • A week in Bordeaux (Mouton, Pontet Canet, D'Issan, Langoa & Leoville Barton, SHL, Arbo, Pavie, Fleur de Bouard, Cheval Blanc, VCC, Figeac); 5/21/2023-5/26/2023 (Left and Right banks of Bordeaux): Tasted at the Chateau. This 750ml bottle was opened about an hour before we tasted. More complex and I could tell the quality difference between this and the 2nd wine ('14 petit mouton). Very very good wine but this needs several more years in the bottle and/or more air than today. 94 on this day but can easily see this as a 96-97 point wine.

  • I loved it. I said it’s like a “forest”! All kinds of tasting notes came one after another with a long finish. It was earthy with dark berry notes and a hint of vanilla with a yet very smooth and silky finish at the end. So well strucutred with layers of complexity.

  • Our first Mouton ever. Unbelievable. Forest, earth, mushroom, that blows into the senses. This is unlike any wine we have tasted. There is no one-dimensional fruity taste or strong tannins; everything was orchestrated in years of something that makes you feel like you can't link the fact that this taste is coming from grapes, or hiding behind grapes. Had on 4th of July w-mom, dad, and Heekyung, over fillet mignon and fois grois at mom's.

  • Enjoyable, but unexciting at the moment. Seems like the plush stage has passed and it’s transitioning into early stages of sleep. Dozing. Tastes primary, dark, espresso notes, red fruit twang, dark bramberry, but distinctiveness is now buried. Can see its going to be wonderful when ready, 96+ but now… 92/93. I’ll wait 5 years for my next bottle from the 1/2 case.

  • Tasted blind. Red fruit, fresh and well balanced which led me to think this had a higher proportion of Merlot. Couldn’t detect the warmth of the vintage or even Pauillac typicity so I suspect it’s closed down for a bit. Maybe revisit in 2030.

  • surprisingly approachable at this stage. magnificent balance and mouthfeel. depth is there, complexity yet to come.

  • very dark red-purple color- almost to the degree of the 1982, magnificent nose laden with alluring baking spices, fruitcake, cassis, sweet black cherries, exotic oak that is already well integrated and a perfect suitor to the dramatic and opulent fruit, on the palate sexy and downright electric, fine full depth, lusty oak, decadent yet classy, the full array of cassis and fruitcake notes with a noticeable streak of wild blueberries, where many 2015s are charmingly ripe but a bit subdued on the mid-palate- Mouton has a serious depth to it, substantial yet silky tannins wrapped in cloves and dark spices, throughout a lovely earthen base peeks out here and there, plummy and even a bit punchy with time, superb length, almost too good to be true, Mouton at its finest and while there is much greatness yet to come- if you have several bottles on hand, this is a rare vintage where I would strongly advise enjoying one in these early days.

  • 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc.

Deep and concentrated with dark plum, leather, blackberries, boysenberries, sweet pepper tobacco, espresso, pencil and light coal.

Really rich, deep and structured wine. Delightful fruit feeling with lighter blackberries, blackcurrant, light cassis, licorice, nice coffee peel and asiastic spices. Long finish with surprisingly pretty fruit prints and some graphite. More fruitful Mouton than for a long time? Lovely thing for the next 40 years.

  • Exotic Asian spices, oyster shell, cigar wrapper and black fruits command your attention. On the palate, the wine is elegant, energetic, refined, polished and full bodied. Even with as much as it is showing now, there is even more going on that is held in reserve. The long, creamy, sensuous, concentrated finish sticks with you for close to 60 seconds..

  • Bordeaux 2015 in bottle (Zurich Arvi / Singapore UGCB): Arvi just opened a new wine bar in Zurich, called Arvino. After the walkabout they showed a preview of the venue and served 2015 Mouton, Mission HB, Cheval Blanc and Evangile there. Great vinotheque, for sure a place I will drop in when in Zurich. TN Mouton: Wow, this wine had it all. Rich, dense fresh and aromatic. Lost of dark fruit, pine, earth, spices. Grippy but polished tannins, freshness. Very impressive. The WOTN for me.

  • At a larger merchant tasting, only quick tasting notes taken. For me the star (red) of the day. An epic Mouton of big proportions, but everything is so nicely balanced here. Superb aromatic complexity of cassis, dark cherries, forest floor, pine tree, tobacco, also some flowery notes. Dense, full-bodied and authoritative, but with superb freshness of high acidity and high tannin of the very highest quality. Excellent length. It can't get much better than this... (98-100)

  • Cask sample.

Deep ruby colour. Expressive nose showing aromas of cinnamon, clove, vanilla, walnut, ripe black currants, dark plums and hints of coffee and anise.

It is dry in the mouth with a moderate acidity. It has firm slightly coarse tannins and a medium+ alcohol. It is full-bodied with pronounced intensity flavours. The finish is long.

It is a very good quality wine. It shows a lot of complexity and a very persistent finish. The flavour concentration is remarkable as well, in balance with the alcohol and tannic structure, but it lack some acidity to provide some freshness.

  • I tasted this at Chateau Mouton Rothschild and was very impressed by the flavor profile. Very developed fruit with heavy tannins and acidity which will allow this wine to mature over the next 10-50 years. I've only recently delved into the French Bordeaux wines and am learning that unless it's under 10 years of age, you aren't getting its full potential. Patience with this wine will demonstrate the powers of the 2015 vintage as being one of the classics, such as 2010. Immediate dark fruit flavors and leather hues.

  • Intriguingly Pauillac #Bdx15 (Bordeaux, actually tasted during en primeur week): The aromatics of dark ripe fruit and cassis are not as vivid as I recall from last year, but they are subtle and engaging. On the palate, this blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc exudes some toasted notes, from the oak, with blackberry and cassis. A full-bodied wine – one expects so from Mouton – with a creamy texture overlaying quite a bit of tannin and structure. There is focus and power, along with 1985-like charm, that leads to a long finish. It is an excellent Mouton, if not reaching the heights of 2010. I would like to compare down the road with 2014, which impressed me about as much! 93-95

  • From a barrel sample prepared for today. In hot and ripe years Mouton tends to leave out cabernet franc, but here there is 2% and there is a slightly tropical side to the nose. Of course lots of oak to be integrated but I like the salinity and very sweet fruit tannins. Ripe but fresh - just hope this isn’t too pushed. I’m not seeing much Paulliac typicity, but this seems to be the case in some warm years for Mouton. It will drink well young and seems more age-worthy and a far far better wine than 2013 but in a similar style (2011, 2013 and 2015 for me show a style shift with the new facilities). Regardless, for me it isn’t close to the 2009/2010 - and a clear notch below the 2005/2006. Therefore needs to be priced VERY carefully on release.

95+pts for me. May become my favourite of Mouton's 2nd tier recent vintages, ahead of 2012, 2014 and 2008.

Note: adding CF not only adds some aromatic interest but lowers the acidity due to Mouton’s especially warm mesoclimate and takes a couple of years to fully integrate. Will make it harder to judge these wines at an early stage. That warmness, plus their crop-thinning after verison, makes Mouton more hedonistic than other Paulliacs. I’d therefore love to revisit the 2011-2015 wines after a couple of years to re-assess them…

  • At this very early stage it may be my favourite Mouton. It's so much more modern. Hedonistic blackberry jam and much more drinkable young than I had envisaged.

Have the French adapted at least slightly but percrptibly to the New World? Finally.

  • Dark in color with a complex nose of licorice, spice box, tobacco and ripe, dark red fruits, this wine is concentrated, long and fresh with true depth of flavor and purity in the mouth. Red, black and even blue fruit are showcased with a hint of spice. The finish packs a silky but slightly reserved punch with smooth, creamy tannins that linger on the palate. The blend comes from 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc, reaching 13.2% alcohol with a pH of 3.76. The harvest took place between September 14 and October 2. 96 - 98 Pts
