Clean and pure syrah fruit. No evident oak. Not completely harmonious on the finish with slightly too noticable alcohol from time to time. Correct and competent, but feels somewhat boring.

Purple garnet, viscosity is medium plus. Nose of wet red forest floor dried blueberry, olive, black pepper, overripe blackberry, dried plum. Palate confirms the nose with some added white pepper, black olive and slight evidence of new oak. Acidity is medium plus, tannins are grippy in a good way.

I think I am rating this higher than most, but its my second bottle and I got the same feeling about this as the first - just great stuff. It's still a modern Syrah, but the balance is very very good, and it's just so good straight out the gate.

Lots of luxurious Syrah markers on the nose with a sweet aroma wafting through the air as we pop and pour. On the palate it is refreshing and structured and with some meat, smoke. licorice and black olives - but mostly it's about ripe fruit all of kinds at this stage: blueberries, blackberries, red berries. I think this will turn out spectacularly well for those who wait a couple of years. Right now almost a little too intense on its own - needs food. Stood up to some chipotle spiced up rib eye tacos we made last night. Day two there's a lovely salinity that comes to the fore: I upped the score as this is an exquisite foreboding of great things to come!

Deep ruby red. Tight overall to start on the nose. Complex layers with savory notes, iron, gamey, spices, smokey, tight dark red berries and dark floral notes. Very Northern Rhone like. Medium tannins (6/10) and medium bodied. Balanced throughout with solid acidity. Layered palate with olive tapenade, red cherries, bramble berries, iron, minerality, and earthy. Medium plus finish. Drink till 2022.

Lovely aromatic nose with blueberry, iodine, somewhat meaty; palate is medium bodied, plenty of fresh light red fruit, blueberry, medium to medium-plus acid, medium very well integrated tannins drinking well now; medium finish. Not quite as a surprisingly strong showing as the first time I tried this, but still quite good with excellent balance and a lot that makes it interesting, especially on the nose. For the price ($30-35), this is a nice value. 91-92

Big nose, raw meats, N. Rhone-like. Flavors of raw meat, black currant, blackberry, savory herbs and Asian 5-spice on long finish. Gripping, viscous long, lingering legs in glass. Gripping! Outstanding QPR! Recommend backing the truck up for a pallet of this juice!
Wine Bar with Tim (Tofino): Lovely deep color; wonderful nose with blueberry, black pepper, some meatiness, iodine; palate is medium bodied, good red fruit, medium alcohol, medium acidity; medium finish. Lovely Syrah. 92

Fresh and floral Syrah With flavors of dark fruits and black spices. Light on its feet with a bit of meatiness in the texture. Finishes crisp with classic Rhone-style notes of violets, scorched earth and game. Nothing overly sweet about this at all. Lovely

At $25, this is just fantastic CA Syrah: drinkability, elegance and CA sun all in a glass.
