Medium bodied and showing more fruit than previously, this is a pleasant drinking wine that has perhaps lost a bit of character but is well rounded and flavorful.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS; Cornas (By JdB): Beautiful bouquet with dark berries, cherries and a pleasant touch of oak. On the palate typical northern Rhone Syrah with red berries, cherries, mineral impressions, firm acidity and tannin, spiciness, a slight touch of sweetness, dark berries and licorice as well. Good length.

Day 1 even through VinAire this was pretty tightly wound. It started to mellow out after 1 hour. On day 2, after Vacuvin it was really nice. It became more loose, and is a restrained yet very drinkable Syrah with pleasant notes throughout. Clearly several years left in the tank.

Quite good for an early drinking cornas in a great vintage. My only gripe perhaps is the price. It’s a bit more than it should cost but this will make me explore the other bottlings from this producer. Solid Syrah black fruit…none of the rusticity that I try to avoid in a cornas. Tannins mellowed and quite easy drinking.

Good red fruit, vanilla notes on the nose, soft tannins Drank half with salmon in dill mayo sauce, asparagus and black rice; half with chicken thighs in tomato-blue cheese sauce, purple potatoes and haricot vert. The wine was better with the salmon, but good with the chicken
100% Syrah. 14% abv. I always enjoy revisiting this cuvée which is a solid entry-level Cornas. The grapes come from 3ha of young vines planted on granite hillsides with a 30% slope. Suffice to say that the resulting wine is neither too bestial nor very wild nor really complex. Good thing since I'm not asking for that much. After a few hours of necessary airing (funky smells on uncorking), the nose shows awesome aromas of dark berries, licorice, proper oak aging and raw meat. The palate is fruit-loaded, medium-bodied and made up of perfectly coated tannins. Black olives, iron-like minerality and some floral notes stand out more at this stage of the tasting. It's opulent, without excess, but the few small back pleats would probably have needed a little more freshness (the harvest is 100% destemmed). Average persistence on sappy earthy and smoky nuances. Damn, it's really good! This '15 exudes a comforting fullness. I don't see what a further cellaring would improve so you can uncork right now with a high confidence. Perfect while waiting for Granit 60 or La Geynale, the estate's top-of-the-range cuvées. [Photo on Instagram]

I agree with much of what is said below. In order to fully appreciate this wine, it is important to consider that the plants are relatively young and populate the less steep (30% max) part of the vineyards belonging to Vincent Paris - in other words, don't expect the austere expression of a typical Cornas that comes with the less accessible (60%) and older areas, where the struggle of labour is almost immediately apparent with every sip. Here, we are instead confronted with a joyful, delightfully spicy southern Rhone-style Cornas, atypical for the label, but good fun for right now. Nose isn’t quite what it could be but maybe because it was PNP... FRuit is tart cherry, some earth, and still quite tannic... I think it needs another few years before it reaches its prime window. Hoping it has room for improvement...
Œil : ténébreux, reflets bleutés, très fortes viscosités parois Nez : projection 6/10, fumée, fruits noirs, olive, iode, ferraille, venaison, bois, girofle, cannelle, cumin (?), minéral, pointe végétale, très invitant... Bouche : sec, ample à gras, tanins charnus à fermes et de grain moyen-fin, bonne prise minérale, acidité rafraîchissante, allonge moyenne+ Encore beaucoup trop jeune. Très bien fait. A revoir en 2022 et bien au-delà. 90-92

Deep purple-garnet color. Aromas of iron, mesquite, tapenade, violet, rosemary & sage, and plum. High-toned plum and blackberry fruit hits the palate, with secondary stony mineral and floral notes. Medium-bodied, elegant density through the middle, bright acid and fleshy medium tannins. Finishes dry and juicy with medium length. Excellent as an early drinking Northern Rhone.

Medium purple color. Notes of blueberries, sour cherries, cassis, also some red fruit, violets, a touch of pepper and black olive. It‘s medium+ bodied, with medium tannin and medium-high acidity. The tannin is a touch drying, but overall a very good, super young, classic Cornas that doesn‘t break the bank. This will still have a good 7-10 years of intersting development ahead. (91+)

Beautiful fruit that is concentrated and jubilant. It does take some coercion to bring out the walnut, earth and slight chive element. A long finish and a plush middle palate. More of a modern style, and might seem a bit forward, however, that is also indicative of the vintage, and there is a fine beam of acidity that underlies. Drink 2019 - 2028.

Great vintage; up-and-coming wine maker. But it just didn't open up for me. It's a lovely dark purple color but still tight. Medium fruit with herbs and licorice. Has yet to really find balance or depth but Cornas does need some time so happy to leave the other bottles in my cellar for a few years.

Too ripe and primary for my taste--out of balance with the modest tannins and acid. Touch of black olive on the palate; otherwise red and blue fruit with a bit of a bitter/tart finish. Not a sufficient reflection of the terroir and cornas more notably. I have typically enjoyed his wines but this is my least favorite encounter (having tried 30, 60, geynale over 4 or 5 vintages since 2007 or so). Will let my two remaining bottles sit for a few years to allow the fruit to (hopefully) mellow.

Vincent Paris 2015, Granit 30 vs Granit 60 begge vinene luftet i ca 2 timer i kjøleskap. ... 30: Ranker fra 1990-2010. Avstilket, kald maserasjon og vinmaking i 20 dager, villgjær. Pumpet over 2x/dag og 'neddytting' 1-2x.
Skikkelig lekker! Trenger nok 5-15 år for å vise sin bedre side. Utrolig value for money 91-92.
Bra konsentrasjon i begge vinene. Massiv frukt, litt ekstraksjon i 30.

Lost my notes but this tasted a little too ripe and over extracted for my palate. There was a candified element to the brambly fruits on the front palate that was reminiscent of cheap, mass produced wine. It was only onthe finish that you could sense the quality through the tannin structure, and earthy, smoky complexity. So some nice elements but a little disappointing as an overall package.

Excellent RQP.

Smoked meats, olive, and bramble on the nose, tannins are noticeable but well integrated, earthy, reasonably complex, approachable, nice wine!
