Somewhat of a cross between sauvignon blanc and chardonnay, thanks to the 15% “cigare” barrels created by Dider Dageneau and coopered by Tonnellerie Ateleir from tight-grain and lightly toasted oak. However, the oak is well integrated at this point. This also sports a tropical and stone fruit profile and completely lacks the grass/hay sauv blanc profile. Hence... atypical sauv blanc, but a darn good wine! Me - 90/91, Wife - 92

This somewhat atypical Cali SB has some tropical fruit on the nose, as well as hay and mineral notes. The flavor composition has some guava and mango, but in a soft yet bracing package. Best at cool room temp.

Very nice showing. This seems to be mature and I doubt it gets better. Should hold a bit, but I would finish these off this summer. That's what this wine is for IMO. Light golden in color. The nose has some lemons and some minerality. Still a nice crispness to it. The fruit is not as vibrant as earlier bottles, especially on the palate. Worked well with food.

This was texturally reminiscent of a Big Cali Chardonnay, but with a wonderful cleaning acidity. Tropical nose. Honeysuckle for days on the palate. Apricot, as well. Crisp, yet weighty finish.

Tropical fruit, herbal, good minerality, light acidity. This has lost some of the freshness it showed last year, the palate is rounder/less crisp. Perhaps its time in oak is showing? Not quite as fresh as last summer, I prefer the crispness. Drink through 2015.

A big and fascinating wine. Pale yellow, with a faint green tint. A little vegetatively funky on opening, some wet dog, but it went completely away, so I am not/not concluding 2,4,6 trichloroanisole (TCA). Nevertheless, Bedrock might consider these whites and maybe the baseline reds with Stelvin enclosures, which are compiling an excellent track record up to 8 years out.
Complex, concentrated, and intense character. Mineral texture of old style Sancerre with aromas of pineapple core, Roussanne-like, honeyed almond skin, clove (due to oak fermentation?), and fennel, and in the mouth more Grenache blanc tapenade than sweet hay. No NZ asparagus or feline notes. Some oiliness and EVOO bite within a non-abrupt finish. Made in the USA with mighty fine craftsmanship. Regretfully, my only bottle.
While this wine fascinates me, some may find that its rhetorical forcefulness outweighs its sensual appeal.

I can tell it's a well-made wine, but just not my style in the end. Lots of tropical notes (pineapple, in particular), that aren't my favorite. But, it does seem well-balanced and pretty complex. I will say, the complexity and balance make it a lot more enjoyable for me than other tropical Californian whites.

Popped and poured. We were having fish, and the weather is unseasonably warm, so we figured why not a nice SB? This is well polished - some glycerine in the mouth. Pineapple and other tropical fruit on the nose, but not in that stark acidic way that SB's sometimes smell. More tropical fruit on the palate - well balanced with some acid, but not too much. Overall, very well done. VERY GOOD.

Very fruity nose gives hits of melon, tropical—pineapple—green apple, but, also, some grassiness. On the palate I get more of the same with tart acid and some slatey earthiness. Tartness, more than anything else, seems to linger in the aftertaste. A very refreshing wine. Great on a hot day – such as today, the first or second or third day of autumn here in California.

Really delicious and way too easy to drink... This is a creamy, fleshy rendition of sauvignon blanc, but in no way flabby. More about texture and spice than overt fruit, though there's some tropical flavors lurking in the background.

Love the balance between acidity and light oak influence on this wine. Really sets it apart from the pack of CA Sauv Blancs out there. This is absolutely delicious right now, but there is no hurry to drink up either. There is enough structure here to give this a couple of years in bottle and see what it blossoms into. Plan to order twice as many next year.

Revisited this one, which seemed like a completely different wine with only two more months of age than the previous bottle. Featured a nice balance of citrus (lemon, grapefruit) with tropical fruit in the background and a bit of oak spice on the finish. The zingy acidity was the differentiator this time that really made this tasty.

Smoother and slightly more fruity than other SBs. Could say it's simple but that's OK. Less mineral flavor, acidity, and tart fruit than I associate with other SBs and that's good. A solid "summer sipper" and/or a nice match to foods calling for a SB without the acidity / crispness. Nice wine.

The color on this one was pale yellow, though it packed a tasty punch of peach, yellow apple and tropical fruit on the palate. The finish was laced with oak spice and some lemon. Mouthfeel was very round, but perhaps too much baby fat showing as the acidity just did not shine through to take this to an extraordinary level.

Nice aromas of lime, pear, melon, orange, fig, grapefruit, flowers, minerals, some Sauvignon Blanc pungency, and some earth in the background. Lemon and lime, stone fruit, spice, a little citrus rind bitterness, and earth on the palate. Nicely balanced, juicy acidity, supple, very nice finish. This was really nice in a riper style with slightly lower acidity than some SBs. Worked well with some Asian food.

I'm not usually a big SB fan, but really enjoyed this wine. Citrus is on the nose with a hint of minerality and floral. The palate is really bursting, much more than I anticipated. Get more of the citrus, mainly lime but lemon and other acidic fruit at well. Streak of stone with a hint of oak. I also get some underlying tropical flavors - almost like a viognier, but well integrated. All in all a very enjoyable bottle of a reasonably warm day.

Rather odd experience here. Usually like Bedrock's SB's a lot, but there was just something about this that I didn't like. I didn't notice any overt flaws, but I just wasn't a fan. Who knows, will let the second bottle sit for a year or two.

Popped and poured, medium-light straw. Striking, mineral-laden nose leaps from the glass with aromas of lime zest, white pear, wet stones, and a hint of gooseberry. Smooth and deceptively concentrated, this expressive wine perfectly mirrors the nose through flavors of assorted citrus (lemon, lime, grapefruit), stone fruits, an impression of minerals/crushed stones and a very subtle touch of oak. Moderate acidity keeps everything lively and fresh. Just a lovely expression of CA Sauvignon Blanc and a terrific value for such a distinctive wine!
Quick comment: Gonna be super hard for real not to drain all these this summer!!!

Exceptional Sauv Blanc! And a great value, this has great acidity, tart green apple, pineapple, grass, lemon with hints of pith... Every bit as good as Merry Edwards, if you're familiar with that style. I'm a fool for only buying 2 bottles...

Upon opening it's pretty creamy and larger framed. After some air time it fleshes out and the palate gains some tension. Acid picks up in the middle with the creaminess leaning out. Definitely domestic but well made, decant or serve after a couple hours of air.

Popped and poured with grilled tilapia. Aroma is minerals and mango and honeydew. Moderate level of acidity on the palate Flavor has the tropical fruit. Not sure if this is quite my style.

Yellow apple and stone fruit, gains complexity with some air. Composed after 1+ hours.

Aromas and flavors of green apple, tropical fruit and stone fruit. Nice acidity & minerality. Doesn't show the grassiness many SBs do. A unique & enjoyable wine.

Great wine for $22. Notes of pineapple and stone fruit on the nose with some orange blossom showing up later. Went great with the ham for dinner, particularly the glaze. I could drink a couple of these a week.
