Pale yellow;subdued nose of Meyer lemons, cardamom; medium body, tangerine/lime flavors and long smooth finish of brioche. Overall impression is of a mellow sauvignon blanc but holding up very well for it's age.

Pale yellow; huge nose of ripe banana and canteloupe; flavors to match the bouquet introduction, finish of lime juice keeps it from being cloying, lime grows stronger with time in glass, long finish. Very attractive medium age SB would be great with fruit based foods or mild curries

pale yellow; melons on the nose, "smooth, velvety" rather than crisp promised by bouquet; rich peach, yellow melon flavors almost hides acidity- could pass for "no oak" cool climate chardonnay, fairly heavy body; smooth finish continues what nose/tastes began, no jagged edges, mellow

A stellar Sauvignon Blanc. Crisp, balanced. Loads of pink grapefruit and marmalade, touched with fresh baled hay. A wonderful follower to the 1989 Scavino Cannubi I had with dinner.

Popped my last bottle of this after the prior flawed one. Better, but I'd say drink up on these. Nose is pretty muted, with a little banana and buttery oak and a fair amount of alcohol. Fruit has receded such that the acidity and oak are now out of balance. There are some lemons, limes and some hints of tropical fruits, but acidity hits hard on the midpalate and dominates through the finish. Not nearly as good as prior efforts of this, although they haven't had as much age on them as this does. 5+11+13+5.

Pretty nose of sweet ripe peaches, limes and a hint of vegetation. Quite smooth and elegant for a Cali SB with lots of complex nuances. The fruit is somewhat mutes but the finish is spicy with a hint of minerals and grass. A restrained style but with good extract and complexity. 89

richly complex, this is not a light hearted example of SB, but it works beautifully due to it's just restrained balance. there is some oak; nevertheless, i'm smitten by the peach, flowers, and lemon-lime notes that flow boldly into a nicely lingering finish. this really hits on all cylinders tonight.

Continues to slide downhill a bit. In the future, I am going to drink these within a year of release. Still great texture and acidty, but lacks the super fruit.

I had high hopes for this wine, but was disappointed. It was pleasant but nondescript. Decent acidity, very little fruit. Should be complimentary to food. I'm not assigning a rating officially, because I think my bottle may have been cooked a bit. But this particularly bottle would warrant a score of about 88.

Already losing a little punch from earlier in the year. Nice tropical fruit but not as concentrated or zesty as when tasted last spring. And several points below the 2004 in terms of complexity on the palate.

Similar in style to its '04 predecessor, but not an exact replica; this iteration has a little more zing and a little less fruit and depth. Tropical peach, lemon, lime, and grapefruit are all here in varying degrees, and there's a touch of grass, too. A bright beam of acidity is the constant throughout, though it's not overbearing. It's a well-balanced and precise S.B., but overall I prefer the slightly richer '04 by a point or two.

The aroma of butter, tropical fruit and a hint of oak hits you clear in the face and you expect another heavy drinking Cali chardonnay. But since we are drinking Sauv Blanc this wine is fresh and clean on the palate with a dose of acidity to keep it interesting. Best Sauv Blanc I've ever had and next year will order my whole allocation from PM of this wine.

Slightly sweet. Rich and layered. Still drinking. Really nice aged SB. You should probably drink soon though.

Aureole with Peter Michael, CC, DP, Caymus, Sloan, Colgin and more (Aureole, New York, NY): Lovely wine. Pale yellow and slightly cloudy. Nice acidity, but less than those that I've had from other producers in 2008. Light tropical flavors, citrus and a tiny, tiny bit of pleasant sweetness on the finish, which is short. I thoroughly enjoyed this.

Way past its prime, or just a flawed bottle. Hurts to pour this one down the drain, but no choice.
