very similar notes to last time around on the nose and palate but overall this was a touch better and real crowd pleaser tonight. can't say anyone would've picked it out as chilean but it was new world for sure. rich, full, round, soft, fruity and slightly herbal with fully integrated tannins on a lengthy finish.

Dope bottle. Give these 10 years. I have 4 left. 80% cab 10% CF 5% PV 5% Merlot. Love the bottle. Price point is outstanding. Drinks like a 300.00 bottle.

this is a solid wine. full bodied, opaque, round, with just the right amount of acidity to balance the fruit and voluptuousness it possesses. the nose is lovely too, with its blueberry jam, chocolate, vanilla and tobacco. drinking well and lots of life left. nothing wrong here. yet, for all that it has going for it, it doesn't knock your socks off, as much as you want it to. (at its price point and where it ranks in the montes lineup), i was hoping for something a little more unique or singular...

Winespecials Wine Evening (Restaurant Holz und Feuer, Kirchheim, Germany): Glass: Gabriel Universal 80% CS, 10% CF, 5% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. Popped and poured. Clear, deep ruby color. Clean, nose, not very expressive. On the palate a bit hot (14,5% abv). Red fruit, dense, deep and long. Well made, but you can feel that this wine is designed and has no soul or excitement. Boring. 90-91+

Blend of 80% Cab Sauvignon, 10% Cab Franc, 5% Merlot and 5% PV, aged in 100% new oak barrels for 24 months. This still smells very closed and took a couple of minutes to start opening up to violets and dark red fruit. On the palate blackberries, blackcurrants, liquorice, spice and peppercorn filled the palate. It was lush, deep and a joy to drink. Still very young but very much enjoyable.

What a great Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux blend from Chile this is.
Full bodied and smooth, with medium acidity and long legs.
Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, vegetables, spices, earth, chocolates, tobacco, coffee, cola and black pepper.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with nice complexity and mouthfeel.
This 8 year old is delicious now and not showing much age. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.
This Single Vineyard is a little heavy on the vanilla right now, but I enjoyed it regardless. Gets earthier as it opens up (2 hours).
A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. Aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
93 points.
$95.
