Lovely rose based mostly on Meunier, which is not for everyone but I enjoy. Very fresh, berry and mineral driven nose as well as palate. Sweet on the nose but otherwise dry, high acid, very refreshing. Great qpr for what I paid, I'm not sure that's still the case with current retail pricing. '20 disgorgement and 1.5g/l

I have enjoyed other wines from Cedric Moussé, particular his Special Club rosé. Disappointingly, this Rosé Éffusion was utterly insipid. There was some vague medicinal cherry fruit and creaminess, but a big hole where the palate should have been, and it did not improve over three days. I'm fairly TCA sensitive but wonder if this might have been sub-sensory threshold tainted. Disgorged December 17, 2019 with 3 g/L dosage.

Disgorged October 2020. 1.5 grams of dosage. Of note, it would seem Cedric is really cutting the dosage back on this, as the past annual disgorgements on these (2016, 2017 and 2019) have been at 6 grams. For me, I support his shift, as this wine is plenty fresh, and it sits on the palate with a light weight, which I have to think would feel much different if this was being dosed at 6. This is rose colored, made of about 90% Pinot Meunier (of which about 10% is still) and the rest Pinot Noir. It is from a perpetual cuvee that started back in 2003, and this disgorgement is made up of 50% 2018 base and the rest from the perpetual. I opened this yesterday and it's easy to get through a glass of this and find a smile when drinking it. Some zippy citrus that frames strawberry and blood orange fruit. You'll find lime here too. I seek Champagne for freshness, for energy and for $38 US, this is a helluva deal.

Rich, yeasty red fruit aroma. Concentrated cranberry, strawberry, and brioche flavors with an interesting earthy red cherry finish. Also notes of citrus? Crisp acidity. Goes down easy.

A friend's bottle, although I acquired them for him. Dazzling pale purple color. Berries and blossoms, quite savory. I liked it a lot. Disgorged Oct. 2020 1.5 gm dosage 92% Pinot Meunier, 8% Pinot Noir Soleera with perpetual reserve 2003-2018, plus still red reserve of the same years. (late 2021 purchase direct from Skurnik) Hmmm, disagreeing with reivew from AG - this was quite lean and linear. followed over 2 days. very stone driven but is lacking some depth in fruit - it's a close miss for me because I do love a mineral driven wine, but I also like some depth and balace.

Taste: The feel is Medium bodied with crisp, high acidity. The juiciness from the nose carries through with vibrant tones red cherries, strawberries, citrus tones, pears, roses, minerals, biscuits, toast, and warm dough.
Overall: This is lovely and delicious. The acidity has some nice cut along with fresh, red fruits and citrus notes.

Shared with some new neighbors as a prequel to a veritable feast. This is a lovely bottle of bubbles. Easy to drink and very fresh and good fruits and a hint of tart and just happily in my wheelhouse. Will have to get some more since we're running out of last year's.

Nose of roses, green notes of tomato leaf and blood oranges with a touch of strawberry. Although Extra Brut this didn't seem bone dry. Citrus and creamy in the mouth but not too tart. I could drink this every week. Especially good at breakfast with biscuits and Smithfield.
Much better than my last bottle. This had strawberry-lime custard with good acidity and minerals. Probably couldn’t identify it as 92% pinot meunière but this bottle showed better than my previous one a year ago. Nicely balanced with 4g/L. Biodynamic wine but decent ripeness here.

Drank over the course of two days and as we're drinking on much more limited occasions I will say I really enjoyed this. Felt like a special treat to get some bubbles. It's a darker rose style and lots of fruit and good bubbles. Again, not a crazy wine (but very affordable) and something I'd continue to seek out in the every day drinking bubbles as it goes really well.

92% Meunier, 8% Pinot Noir, disgorged 04/03/2019, 4g/L dosage. Perpetuelle bottling since 2003. Very dark for a rose champagne, pinkish-red, initially with plenty of effervescence though it tamed quickly in the glass; nose is aromatic with wild strawberry, slight herbal and mint; palate is medium bodied, red fruited, medium-plus acidity, medium alcohol, nice complexity at the start, fades a bit through the midpalate; a bit shorter medium-minus finish than expected given the intensity and complexity on the nose and initial palate. A nice rose champagne especially for the price, but not particularly "aged" for a perpetuelle cuvee and a bit short on the midpalate and finish. For $40 I would buy a bottle again. 90

Very lovely champagne esp considering the price point. I was glad to see that we have some of these coming. It's bright and fresh and easy to drink. Red fruits. A hint of interest to it. Clearly a wine that would work well across a bunch of different foods. We had paired with some pizza and it handled that beautifully.
I shared this with people who drank it way too fast so I didn’t get to see it open up as I thought it may have lacked a little bit of oomph. Strawberry cream fizz, ginger candy, watermelon rind.

Rose with copper hue. Reserved shy aromatics that needs time in the glass to open up. Barberry candy. Soused apples, touch of herbs. Juicy fruity on the palate with red orange finish. Refreshing acidity and the balance is just right.

Same specs as the July 2019 bottle I wrote up. Virtually all Pinot Meunier, dosage of 6 g/l and disgorged October 2019. Opened the bottle yesterday. Color on this is a salmony/dark pink. This bottle has a good measure of blood orange, which is what drives the acidity. There is a juicy, strawberry component that sits within a concentrated, denser type of texture. Peach, some licorice and lime, too. Finishes with blood orange and pomelo note. This is not elegant or lithe, but more powerful and rich in tone. Delicious.

Wine in the time of Corona Virus - Quarantining in NYC & NH; 3/7/2020-9/1/2020 (NYC/NH): Opened this as a palate cleanser before our Opus One tasting session. Paired with 80% lean Dickson's beef cheeseburgers on Martin's potato buns - YUM!! What a great combination, the cut of the champagne working super well with the fat of the burger. Once again I am regretting not purchasing more of this when offered.

Terry Thiese Champagne Portfolio Tasting (Pops for Champagne, Chicago IL): The nose is autolytic-heavy and driven with noticeable tones of toast, brioche, biscuits, and dough with some lighter notes of strawberries red apples, red flowers, and pears. There is good balance but it lacks depth with a classy Medium bodied feel and tart, high acidity. The feel lacks the depth of the nose and the acidity is fairly well integrated. This is a nice and balanced rose, but it doesn't show off more than that.

First of two that were backfills for my initial purchase. The disgorge date has changed with my most recent order too, now listed as 10/02/2017 so I presume that is October 2017? Dosage remains 6 g/l, built with 92% PM and 8% PN. This has a ruby color, and it drinks with a brisk core of acidity and spine, mixing crisp raspberry and strawberry nicely together. I paid $36 US for these, and I wish I had bought more as the wine is delicious.
Candied cherry, strawberry, round and balanced. Finish has slight tart taste. Very good rosé for its price of $30. I wouldnt pay over $45 for this. If you are looking for cheap rosé champagne that isn't boring and simple, this is it. Good for warmer weather.

Very deep coloration here and a banging nose of juicy strawberries. A bit heavy and clunky on the palate though that really left me thinking more high end Cava than champagne. Stuffing seemed there, it just didn’t have any precision in its execution tonight. This was my first try at this producer though. Not much value for me at $60 local
Second time with this Champagne. First was with Frank Murray and the OC Wine Crew, second time with Lily.
Bright cherries, strawberries and cream, rich and high toned fruit, hints of cola, candied red fruit, and ocean spray on the nose. Compelling and exciting. The palate is more straightforward: Strawberry, grapefruit, some bitterness, Mugnier funk, nice acidity, and that signature Mousse salinity that I love.
For $34.99, this checks all the boxes for an inexpensive, value packed grower champagne. Delicious effort from Mousse.
Wow, this is some damn delicious stuff. It was my first experience with this producer, but it immediately caught my attention with its lovely mouthfeel, savory components, and distinct minerality. Very different from any Champagne Rose I've ever had. This is what discovering grower Champagne is all about.
A lovely and thought provoking bottle. I found myself going back to this throughout the evening. Thanks, Frank!

Disgorged 06/2016. 6 g/l with about 90% PM and 10% PN. Opened last night and kept a small amount under stopper for today. Pinkish with a touch of red, beautiful color. Lively acidity, leaning towards black cherry fruit. This is very zesty, with a bitter finishing note that gives the wine a lively energy. The finish takes on a grapefruit pith quality, that citrusy bitterness that I enjoy. This will wake up the palate and make it pay attention.

This was our last wine to taste of the Mousse range. This is the blend of both soleras that they maintain, with a total composition of 92% PM and 8% PN. 6 g/l dosage and I forgot to jot down the disgorge date. Fresh, lively, red berry, creamy and bright in tone. If I can find this locally in time via my shop, I will buy it. Enjoyed this as a solid Rose.

Group Note A: Medium pink N: Tart cherry, brioche, strawberry, raspberry, very youthful P: Aroma confirmed. Tart cherry really the star player here. Dry, high acid, low tannin, m/m(-) body, medium intensity and medium (-) finish. C: Surprised that this is a solera produced wine as it really seems more of a reductive style than oxidative. The group defined this as their Summer Wine and were quick to move on from this $50 wine. The weakest on the night. Not got the depth and chew i have seen this wine described as by the importers. Shame!

Biodynamic and Organic Champagnes (Dio Wine Bar - Washington, DC): Gorgeous strawberry color, and it sure smells like them, and raspberries, red apples, roses and chalk dust. Juicy texture on the palate, plump almost, but precise acidity. Juicy strawberry and raspberry fruit play well off of musk, biscuits, chalk dust, spiced tea, rose hips. Almost all Pinot Meunier – really cool stuff.

Ordered a bottle at Pops for $105. 92% Pinot Meunier and 8% Pinot Noir from vineyards in Cuisles, Jonquery, Olizy and Châtillon sur Marne. The red wine blended in is aged for 24 months in oak. 6 g/ltr of sugar. Disgorged June 2016. Deeper rose color. Firm bead. Notes of strawberries, currants, citrus and minerals. Fresh and clean style. Full bodied with a round finish. 92-93 points.

PnP at cellar temperature. Beautiful light coral red with a very fine mousse. Delicate on the nose and in the mouth with freeze-dried strawberries, Special K cereal, roast chicken carcass, and seaside. Intriguing and a bit shy, a uniform layer of ultrafine, low-intensity tannin and medium(+) acid lead this into the long finish. Some of the strawberry/red berry flavors even stuck to our teeth. Very interesting. "Excellent," 91/100, though only a reasonable value at USD$47.

Solid. Strawberries and earth. Soft mousse but not particularly bright. I do love Meunier though

Another Year, Another Napa (aka Winter in Wineland IV); 1/5/2020-1/11/2020 (Napa/Sonoma California): Off the list at Single Thread in Healdsberg. Very bright and lots of red fruits and easy to drink and honestly I think this could have paired with literally every dish that we had. Very versatile.

Delicate blood orange and apple seed. Beautiful rhubarb color. Balanced but the finish is a bit abrupt.

Disgorged 2016. I enjoyed this quite a bit despite is being on the much drier end of the spectrum.

Post Tasting Wine Dinner (Brasserie Margeaux - Chicago IL): Good textures, lots of berry with rounded textures, just a finish much more tart than I prefer.

Unit D's SCHOOL OF SELOSSE Champagne Tasting (Shady Acres. Houston, TX): NV
Unit D's School of Selosse Champagne Tasting
Group Note
A: Medium pink
N: Tart cherry, brioche, strawberry, raspberry, very youthful
P: Aroma confirmed.
Shame!
cépage 92% Meunier, 8% Pinot Noir

Biodynamic and Organic Champagnes (Dio Wine Bar - Washington, DC): Gorgeous strawberry color, and it sure smells like them, and raspberries, red apples, roses and chalk dust. Juicy texture on the palate, plump almost, but precise acidity. Juicy strawberry and raspberry fruit play well off of musk, biscuits, chalk dust, spiced tea, rose hips. Almost all Pinot Meunier – really cool stuff.

Drunk to celebrate our 1000th bottle consumed on CellarTracker!
No formal notes. However, we observed the same savory and strawberry flavors as before, with more citrus/blood orange developing as the wine warmed and bubbles dissipated. "Excellent," 91/100.
