1/3. Medium ruby color. Smells like dark fruits, raspberry, graphite, wood spice, orange peel, and lavender. Medium body, acid, and finish, with dark fruits, a bit on the stewed side, lemon, spice, and mineral. Pretty good with burgers tonight.

A notable CDP bargain. Full bodied and well balanced. I didn't expect much but was pleasantly surprised. Gave it some time to air out. For the price, significantly above average.

Blend of 60% Grenache, 35% Syrah, and 5% Mourvèdre. Complex nose has savoury, earthy, mineral, incense, wet forest floor and some floral rose aromas. It is full-bodied and rich with smooth, silky tannins and spicy, raspberry, cherry liqueur, and lovely aromas replays. Nicely balanced with juicy acids. Very long on the finish.

Really nice and great example of Grenache. Dark red fruits, cream, classic southern Rhône metallic components, spice box, great balance, silky body, very very good.

Medium bodied, red fruit, good snappy acidity, smooth but nice tannin. Red licorice, red berries, smoked meat, medicinal, and grilled herbs. Very typical CdP profile. Needs a few more years to unwind as its still a bit hot and tense, but I do like the style of this cuvee.

Expressive bouquet with garrigue, red berries, cherries and a light touch of oak. On the palate the same impression, good acidity and round tannin. A delicious and inviting wine. Still very youthful, but certainly already a great pleasure.

Kirsch, iron and garrigue make their presence with no effort. Silky, soft and sensuous, this elegantly styled Southern Rhone combines freshness with polished, red berries. Drink it young or age it. It's hard to believe this is their entry level wine, because it's so good. The wine was produced from blending 65% Grenache, 35% Syrah and 15% Mourvedre.

Note : 16,75+/20 i.e. 93+/100

Winery Visit; Domaine Giraud, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Rhône, France.: This wine is made of 80% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 5% Mourvedre. All grapes were destemmed this vintage. The Syrah is raised in oak. In the bouquet fresh red berries and cherries as well as garrigue. On the palate all sorts of herbs and spices, red and dark berries, some pepper, concentrated and full bodied and fruity with a good balance between acidity and sweetness. Beautiful wine. Can last until the end of the 2020’s at least.

Full bodied, dark fruits. Needs more balance/structure for me, maybe more time will help it?

Weekly tasting group RWP #288: Complete surprise which appeared to be Rhone. (@ JdB): Just some short notes. In the bouquet dark berries, garrigue and some pepper. On the palate ripe fruits, juicy acidity and tannin and some pleasant pepper again.
