Nose: lemon custard biscuit, maltose, honey, melon candy, white flower Notes: although there's an inherent bitterness towards the end of the palate but the nose is quite creamy and full bodied. I would say that this wine delivers plenty of typicality of the Domaine and the nose is quite appealing. Nevertheless I am often quite conservative about Ramonet's 1er crus as they can demonstrate inconsistencies from time to time and between different 1er crus, I would say Verger is probably my least favorite one and often underperforms comparing to the other 1er Crus. I guess 2-3 more years can give this a better palate and feel. Drink: 2026+ Rating: 88

Light yellow. Nose is dominated by the barrel with cream and vanilla. Feels like satin- remarkable. Again, the palate shows barrel and apple to pear fruit. This could keep going for years!

Has the generosity of the vintage, with ripe peach and brown spice notes. There's plenty of Ramonet spearmint and the usual poise and elegance of this great maker. It is full and plump, with good minerally detail just below the flesh. It is drinking really well right now.

An open and generous nose of orchard fruits, mint, guava and aniseed. It is full and silky in the mouth, with good complexity and ripeness, but also a lovely elegance about the wine. It is rich without heaviness and minerally notes kick in at the end. The finish is long and satisfying.

Has it been 5yrs already??? Nope...just 5 months...I have no patience! I did heed my warning as I at least decanted it for a couple hours...this is a RICH RAM! Plenty of sun kissed fruit(reminds me of Rivers Marie)...good dose of oak barrel spice(again RM)...yet ample fresh squeeze and chalky crushed rocks to cut it up nicely! Everything is big...super tasty...yet does posses a balanced elegance believe it or not. Showing a trace of spearmint as well...yay! Again, the cork concerns me for future aging as there is a noticeable saturation on one side to the top...as noted in the first bottle as well? Hopefully there won't be any issues as this one would be rockstar in 5-10yrs!

Whoa this needs air! Started out super coiled and bitter, with a sharp alc. edge to it. Splash decanted a couple times seemed to help calm it down, but looks like a big mistake to open this so soon? For now...really rich and ripe pitted orchard fruits...apples, peaches, pears...viscous weight...somewhat oily...yet plenty of lemon/lime citrus cut for freshness and energy. Doesn't seem over ripe at all imo. Seductively plump and curved, yet lifted, "junk-in-the-trunk"..if ya know what I mean! Gorgeous aromatics...white flowers, lime blossoms, toasted marshmallow, flint strike, oak barrel spice, creme brule sugar, crushed orchard fruit, slight spearmint. Yea..here we go...that bitterness is starting to integrate...yet there is still and edge to this that I also noted in a young 10 as well. Some serious structure here...this one should be built for the long haul...loaded with crushed geology...chalky...with ample fruit. Will see what tomorrow brings...but for now, I'd hold off for a few years on this one. Most likely ++pts. Btw, the cork had more saturation than expected, and a little run to the top of the cork which did smell of dried wine? I don't suspect any heat damage though...maybe hairline fracture on the cork, and a very full bottle.

End Sep fun @ Gaston!: This was really interesting from the start - buttery, almonds, slight petroleum, white flowers, wet rocks, chrysanthemum, chalk, menthol. Long minty spearmint finish. Fascinating.

Has the sun-drenched quality of the vintage, coupled with the pungent minerality of the vineyard. There are notes of sappy orchard fruits and plenty of spice. It has a degree of elegance and great perfume. Flavours finish with a refreshing stoniness and length is very good.

Coravin BTG. Floral start with rich lemon aromas, some faint wintergreen hints. Same richness on palate with more apple flavors in the mix. Fleshy textures from start through middle, then brighter finish. Still, slightly on the warm side so I’d err drinking this on the young side, probably best now through 2030.

It burst with orchard fruit goodness and had some of the house spearmint and a suggestion of honeysuckle too. It was generous and full but elegant and energetic at the same time.
