Stupid me, I didn’t take tasting notes, because it was Thanksgiving and I was enjoying myself. But let me just say WOW WOW WOW. Had been holding this wine for some time, and it was worth it. I remember how lush on the palate it was — minimal petrol — and so lovely with the turkey dinner. Glad I still have a couple bottles in the “vault” as I am excited to see this evolve further.

2nd time I have opened this and it was just as good this time around. A pale yellow color. A hint of petrol on the nose. Dry with notes of green apple and white tea. An elegant wine with solid acidity. 93 points.

This drinks well now but at the same time still so youthful. This wine has a long future ahead of it and could merit a score increase. If you have only a few bottles, hold them. 94-96

The 2016 Cuvee Ste Catherine is a terrific wine and a tour de force in Alsatian Riesling. Loads of fresh pear, yuzu, touches of petrol and kiwi, eventually with a subtle but refreshing saline edge - really engaging and deep. Wonderful weight and acidity. Fantastic now (actually surprisingly accessible and completely open) but will continue to develop positively. At Divellec, Paris.

Opened at Granor Farms. This wine is made from 60 year old vines grown on granite soil in the Schlossberg Vineyard. I purchased this on sale for $25. Pale straw color. This was a well balanced wine and showing excellent promise at this young age. Very fresh and lively now with notes of peaches, white flowers and talc. Dry with only a touch of sweetness. This will put on weight and depth with age. I have 2 more bottles which I will hold. 94+ points.

Friday Double Blind Tasting $60+ (Bin 75 Alpharetta, GA): Bright straw yellow; apricot, rich, loads of mineral, rich and sharp, talc driven, still a prettiness, driven, lower alcohol; very good.

Incredible wine out of magnum. Underipe nectarine, mint, cheese rind, smoke and petrol. Tasty but criminally young. Revisit in 10 years.

Riesling GG tasting #7: Very traditional winemaker, aging in large barrels. Labeling Ste. Catherine means late harvest for this producer.
Kaysersberg /Schlossberg is considered one of the best grand cru's in Alsace.
Intense nose with rubber, smoke and petroleum. Rich body with high acidity. Bury in cellar.

Winter BYO with a lutefisk pause in the middle; 12/16/2017-12/18/2017 (Trondheim): Can be described in one word; reasonably fantastic :-) Light golden. Sweet nose. Slim, balanced and very elegant with typical fruits and tones.
