mnuncorked's bottle wasn't off, I think that's just what this wine is, as her notes match mine. that said it's not terrible. just a cheaper light italian red perhaps in the style of a bojo.

10/21/2017 SPC Class WK7: Italy // Southern: pale ruby with hint of orange on the rim. Slightly fizzy... moderate aroma intensity, very hot on the nose. Dry medium bodied fresh acidity and medium/astringent tannin. Little smoky, hint of vanilla. Suspect this bottle is faulty or dumb.

Librandi (Rome): Ruby red, a bit faded. Intense and fine nose: candy violets and black cherries. Silica hints. Dry, with a good acidity and minerality. Full mouth, thanks to a high alcohol and a smooth tannin. Fruit on the background.
