1 hour decant had with roasted turkey, stuffing, sweet potatos and peas (faux thanksgiving).
This bottle hit the spot. Crazy aromatics (evergreen?, menthol?), herbs, earth spice. Medium body balanced. Some complexity. Mixed fruit mainly red. Wife and I bith enjoyed this ( better than the 2017 nicolas jay WV pinot we had a few days ago). If found on sale I would buy again.

Always love how this develops over time. Garnet hue. Nose is a bit of an adventure I can’t quite pin down. Nice mix of fruit and more earthy flavors. Makes me want to keep trying WV Pinots

Med acidity, alcohol and tannins. Cranberry, chocolate, and slight earthy tobacco notes. Aging nicely. A lot better today than a year ago. The 2014 I had a couple months ago seemed to be past peak. Now to a year from now May be ideal for this vintage.

Awesome. On the nose: fresh and sour cherries flanked by floral notes and non-specific herbs and grasses. On the palate you'll find both red and dark fruits: ripe cherries and blueberries with significant density accompanied by lots of spice. Floral tones become much more pronounced after 15 min. For me, fully open after only 35 mins. Big body for a pinot with perfectly integrated tannins. Big finish with medium to long length. *Yamhill-Carlton District AVA. *Fabled Vineyard planted in 1989 and 1990 providing grapes to almost 20 Willamette Valley producers, many who highlight Shea Vineyard as a single-vineyard offering. *Shea started producing their own wine in 1996. So this is 20 yr anniversary vintage.

Absolutely needs 60-90 min to really open up. Nice ripe red fruits, some acidity and a little more minerality towards the end. Went fine with a bouillabaisse

Medium to heavy bodied Pinot. Needs a 1 hour decant to come into its own and open up. Even then it has tension but is super enjoyable. Velvety tannins, cherry and dark spices (clove, nutmeg). Bill sets the standards and he makes the rules. If you don't abide by them you must be a fool.

Great fruit concentration, which suggests a shift in wine making style for this producer. Almost Russian River in style. I recommend a 1 hour decant to allow it to open up to its full potential. Crowd pleasing Willamette Pinot!

Clear ruby. Cherry cola nose. Cooked plum and sour pie cherry on the palate. Medium finish with minimal tannins. By Willamette standards, gets a little close to the 'jammy' line, but the tart acidity rescues it. Much more balanced than the 14.5% would suggest. Ultimately, Burgundian elegance just barely carries the day. Crowd pleaser with some very respectable sophistication.

This Pinot is at the start of its drinking window, and should easily drink well until at least 2024, and likely beyond. There is a nice harmony between rich dark fruit and palate cleansing acidity that keeps you coming back for another sip.

Drank in a group tasting of of 2016 Pinot Noir grown on the Shea Vineyard. Wines tasted were Shea Wine Cellars Estate, Winderlea, Archery Summit, Ken Wright Cellars, and Bergstrom; all single vineyard from Sea. The best was Winderlea and Shea estate was #2.

Has the stuffing to age, but at this stage I found the wine too much of a fruit bomb, and slightly confected - it was actually not that easy to drink. Tannins are nicely woven but definitely evident.

Cracking bottle of Pinot Noir. Thoroughly Burgundian but with a twist of modern.

Not as much depth as I’d hope. Still nice pinot that will go with most food or great by itself

Rich cherry, some mushrooms, earthiness, a tad sweet, oaky in a medium body with a fair bit of tannins. I'd have loved some more acidity

Needed to open up a bit. After decanting for an hour it really improved. A lot of fruit not as much earth. Lower acidity.

Ripe cherry, herbs, vanilla. Fairly deep flavor. Too ripe for me, doesn't have the clarity I like about many Willamette pinots I've had.
